In scarcity there is value. An basic law of economics.
There will be more people that will want a CF roof. But you’re not looking for several buyers, you’re only looking for one buyer. A buyer that wants a sunroof. And they will pay more for it. You may not sell it as quickly as one with a CF roof, but you will get a higher price if you are willing to wait for the right buyer. However, I would recommend buying what you want. If you want a sunroof, buy one and don’t worry about resale. No one can predict the market for these cars in the future. |

If you trade the car in, they don't give a shit whether or not it has the carbon roof. Murphy's law applies here. If you have the sunroof, every buyer will want the carbon roof. If you gave the carbon roof, every inquiry will be looking for a sunroof. Like everyone thinks you should have a manual, while every used buyer wants dct.

I think this is def the case. In a private party sale it will likely be less desirable since most people want the CF roof. However for dealer trade in which is prob what 95% of people do, it wont matter.

I had an E91 M-sport with RWD and a MT. It was a unicorn. It happened to be a lease, but it's appeal was so high, I could have made money if I had been willing to buy it out and wait for the right buyer. Just because you like the CF roof doesn't mean others are willing to give up the sunroof. I had been looking at used E9X M3's and kept passing on all the ones that didn't have a sunroof. It will likely take longer to sell an F80 with a sunroof. |

Guess what? Not a single comment lamenting the sunroof.

Many people have tried to advertise "sunroof delete" cars at a premium in the Porsche market. If you track a car, it will improve headroom. There may be some additional desirability as a result, but the difference will not be quantifiable. |

And once again, you are wrong. Sunroof deletes/non sunroof cars are lighter than their sunroofed counterparts. So you can quantify it on a scale. Removing 40-50 pounds from the top of the car will bring the center of gravity lower. Please stop sharing bad information with the community. |

People this is dumb debate! I personally wanted CF roof but the deal I got on my 16 ZCP with a sunroof was to good to pass on (6000 miles for 60k) and CPO.
If resale value is so important we've already messed up by purchasing an M car. That's my 2 cents worth...now enjoy the upcoming holidays!! |

I'm impressed people can feel a 50 lb weight difference in a 3500 lb car. That's the equivalent of a 210 lb man weighing 213 lbs. not sure I'd notice that.

Headroom is the REAL, tangible difference. I hope people aren't inclined to believe that deleting the sunroof will make any difference in lap times or acceleration times. "Misleading the community" haha. |

When you go to sell the house, a pool becomes both a liability and an attraction depends on the buyer. There are more people who think a swimming pool is a liability. It's the same with a sunroof. There are more people who prefer the carbon fiber roof, and that is why you see few cars with a sunroof. That said, I ordered my car with a sunroof.
