Yes please share details. Would love it if this issue could be corrected.

I've asked for details on the bulletin and will get back to you ASAP. That said, my issue was slightly different. I'd have CarPlay up when shutting down and when I started the car, it wouldn't save that setting and would instead start with the main media menu. It would *play* CarPlay, it just didn't show up on the screen.

I commented on this thread because my guess is that it's the same issue (i.e., failure to retain last used media setting screen when restarting). I'll let you know what I find out.

So apparently I misunderstood, it wasn’t a bulletin. They said that the fix was “in the ISTA instructions found in the BMW test plan for the condition due to a fault code set for the headunit.” So apparently my iDrive had a fault code reported and they followed the instructions for the issue. They also updated me to the newest istep, which is probably what fixed it.

Sadly, this appears to not be totally fixed, rather it just seems less frequent. Oh well.

I had my istep updated a month or so ago for an unrelated issue and It does indeed seem to be less frequent than it was before.
