50K+ Mileage Owners

The other post for "who has the most mileage" has got people posting who have barely rolled off the showroom floor, so wanted to make a separate thread for people who actually have driven their cars past the warranty period mileage.

A few questions for you guys:

-How many mechanical breakdowns you guys have had?
-How much total money did you guys spend on service/repairs since you guys bought the car?
-How many tire replacements have you guys gone through?
-Following OBD/CBS or BMW specific maintenance schedule, or do you guys change stuff at a different frequency?
-Do you see yourselves keeping the car for longer or is it showing its age?

Nothing yet post warranty.

3 tire replacements - 52k

We'll see with the MX schedule, for now i'll follow BMW.

Undecided on whether to keep it much longer, love the car and nothing is particularly peaking my interest at the moment.

37 months of ownership, all but the nasty winter months it was tuned. 57k miles and no issues outside of normal maintenance. Outside of horrible depreciation it was a good experience.

I've searched these forums quite a bit and besides those two issues, I don't see any repeat offending issues and certainly nothing major. These are confidence inspiring vehicles!!
Another issue I've seen mentioned in the forums is the valvetronic motor needing to be replaced but it seems to happen early in the car's life.

The G20 looks like Thanos punched the Predator in the face with his Infinity gauntlet, so I'd rather live with a small chance of a blown turbo or whatever with the F8x, versus a 100% chance I drive a fugly car everyday

32k miles 3 years DD, no big issues. I had my seat emblems replaced twice this time i wrapped it in clear car wrap, lets see if they break again. Also replaced my rear brake lights cause they started cracking, just noticed the replaced ones are starting to do it too and will have them replaced on my next service.

Daily driven 2015 F80 MT with passive suspension built in the first month of production. Problem free and feels like new.

I doubt BMW would remove MT when they said recently that the take rate on MTs are almost 50% on the M2, and enough non the M3/M4 to justify them keeping it. So long as they keep selling they won't remove the option.

Hey,

I've spoken with Munich on occasion and there will definitely be an MT available!

The caveat here is "BMW,USA", importing these for the N.A. market.

Cheers!

I have a 2015 F80 with full Dinan Stage 3, 45k miles and have had no issues other than seat M emblem cracking and replaced under warranty. No track time but have had several high speed runs covering 7-8 miles at over 160mph on some of the FL empty highways at night. No issues what so ever...I have other M3s from previous generations and this is by far the most reliable.

A few questions for you guys:

-How many mechanical breakdowns you guys have had? None
-How much total money did you guys spend on service/repairs since you guys bought the car?Around £3000 just servicing no repairs but under warranty anyway
-How many tire replacements have you guys gone through? My tyres last around 25k per set
-Following OBD/CBS or BMW specific maintenance schedule, or do you guys change stuff at a different frequency? Just the BMW schedule which sees a service every 6 months on my mileage
-Do you see yourselves keeping the car for longer or is it showing its age? It's really fresh after 85,000 miles inside and out
HTH, just noticed you wanted to know after warranty period mines still in it, the UK offers an unlimited mileage warranty for the first 3 years so even at 85k I'm under warranty.

Make sure there are good service records including break in service, pay a hundred bucks to get a PPI done. If both of these check out you’re good to go. The F8X platform is proving to be a very reliable car.

I have 56k miles on my 16' F82 DCT. Only got a drivetrain error once due to spark plugs. So far never had to make any repairs.
