Don't do it. Better to have one practical DD and one fun car vs. one all-around car with compromises. If it were up to me again, I would go the route you've already taken.

I will be getting another truck just to tow with (diesel), so I will have another truck, just not a daily.

I'll second that..I'm 6'4 and probably at 80 % from full aft position which gives me perfect clutch operation.

Mjames - M3 is a normal sedan. Driving it as a daily is minimal compromise. Trunk is plenty big. Kids get in and out easy.
I considered a 911 for a fun car too and that, while still practical, requires compromises in space that you would notice in a daily driver. Kids in the back would be a pain. Front trunk isn’t very practical. When I asked where do I put my work bag... “That’s what the passenger seat is for” said the dealer. Sure, if you don’t have friends. Only reason to get a second car for me (in addition to the M3) is winter driving in MN. After driving RWD M cars through the winter for 6 winters - I am ready for some AWD help for the big snow days. I'm 6'4 and around 275lbs , and my 7 year old son can fit behind me BUT my 5 year old daughter cannot. Paradoxally, her being shorter changes the angle at which her legs stick out. His can go almost 90 degrees down, her's are like 50-60 degrees out.

Well I made the trip to see the car and everything is going to be just fine. PLENTY of room behind the seat for either of my kids. Very happy.
Thank you all for chiming in and giving your advice/experience on this subject. Now with any hope, it'll still be there when the Z06 gets picked up the 25th by it's new owner.

Hopefully it has side sun shades which is a plus with kids in back.
