Impact of Larger than OEM Tires on MP HAS Height
I'm considering the M Performance HAS. However, I currently have the 20" 666M wheels with Bridgestone RE-71Rs, which are somewhat larger in diameter than the same wheels with the stock MPSS tires (as shown below).
I'm wondering if anyone else who has the MP HAS has also gone with different wheels and/or tires which cause the overall, combined wheel/tire diameter to be somewhat larger than stock 666M 20" wheels with stock MPSS tires, and what, if any, impact did that have on adjustable heights with MP HAS (whether in terms of how many millimeters the front or rear can be lowered, ride/handling qualities on street and track, or any other observations)? Front Wheel Diameter with RE-71R: 245/35R20's - overall diameter 26.8" (vs. 26.3" for stock MPSS 265/30R20's). Rear Wheel Diameter with RE-71R: 295/30R20's - overall diameter 27.0" (vs. 26.8" for stock MPSS 285/30R20's). Does the extra 1/2" height of the overall wheel/tire diameter in front and extra 0.2" in rear impact the amount of factory-recommended lowering of the suspension? If so, what amounts of lowering vs. stock heights did you go with for street or for track? Any other advice or words of wisdom would be welcome. |
