Salzburg area is great for driving outside of the city. I recommend going to Hallstatt (approx 1hr). Great drive!! On the way there are various highways leading to great lakeside driving in and around mountains.

Wow less than 24hrs before pickup! Just checked out the museum which was pretty cool. Stepped out for a snack and this beauty was being set up for a photo shoot.

Just got word from my NJ CA that it's on the Morning Christina which is due to leave Bremerhaven today. Map shows it's still docked. So 16 days from drop off zurich to leaving port.

Also picked up a set of mint 19x9.5 / 19x11 HRE R101s Brushed Dark Clear wheels from tommy94gt (awesome seller BTW)!

NICE interior. Way to go for ordering a manual too! Can't wait to see pics of your new wheels mounted on it as well. I have about a month to go for my Avus Blue but, it'll have a more boring black interior when it arrives (at least the outside will be a bit busier though). I also want to swap to some cool 19" wheels but, don't know what yet...

Nice! Where as I did have the opportunity to drive on the autobahn last year, it was in a cheap rental... how I would have wished it was in an F80! You are a lucky man!

Looking great. I really need to see Avus in person again. I swear the last time I saw it I didn't like it and thought it looked green, but it looks nothing like that in any of these photos...

Love the combo tho I might be biased

Yeah I am not a fan of green hues but I don't see much if any in the Avus. That said, I am red-green colorblind so....

Thanks - between the traffic, rain and break-in I didn't really have a chance to open it up on German highways. As to the highway driving at tail end of trip approaching Zurich, forget about it! Nobody goes over the speed limit for fear of heavy fines.
