#M4GotM Mineral Gray M4 on Eibach Pro-Kit Springs

Owning an M has been a personal goal of mine since I was kid and I accomplished it a couple years back when I picked up an E92 M3 (MW, DCT). Close friends know my endless love for cars and specifically BMWs. I started working in digital media as a photographer for a car blog while I was in college. Shortly after that I launched my own site (porhomme.com / @porhomme) in 2008, one geared towards men's lifestyle. Though the content covers several verticals, Automotive is still a constant and I've been fortunate enough to work with some of my favorite brands with BMW sitting atop this list.

I mention all this to say that I've been fortunate enough to do what I love. When the F8x M's were initially unveiled, I was honestly still so attached to my E92, so I tried to find every excuse in the book to make myself not want it. And then I saw it in person. Well, that changed things quite a bit and a week before my birthday in December, I went off and bought an M4 in Mineral Gray and I love everything about it.

So here's what's been done so far --

- Gloss Black grille surrounds
- Painted reflectors from IND
- AWE SwitchPath Exhaust (non-resonated, video coming soon)
- MS Spacers, 15mm all-around

When it came to springs, I've read tirelessly about the options, from coil overs and HAS from KW to H&R's setups. In the end, I didn't want H&R because, in my opinion, it's just too aggressive for NJ roads. I instead reached out to the folks at Eibach and they helped me secure one of the first sets of their Pro Kit setup. It came in the mail last week and the guys at Redline Speed Worx (RSW in Green Brook, NJ) put them on earlier today. They have to settle a bit but here are the initial photos.

I'm going to continue taking more photos and creating more content to share. We've got a video being finalized from the AWE exhaust install with road footage that was taken more recently, post-break-in period. That should drop soon! Hope you guys like, don't think there are too many F8x M's sitting on the Eibach Pro Kit yet so this might help folks make a decision.

Disclaimer -- I got them at a discounted price, but I can wholeheartedly say I'm really happy with the setup. I wanted something that wouldn't be as aggressive as H&R from a reputable brand that does their R&D. Eibach's setup fit the bill.

Specs --

Front: 22mm lowering at 200lbs in
Rear: 5mm lowering at 685lbs/in

More pics courtesy of Redline Speed Worx (RSW). Thanks, Sam!

I LIKE it! Very mild/subtle drop but it looks great with the 15mm all around. Mineral Grey FTW.

That looks nice, makes me think twice about Eibach and potentially could consider them again. Eibachs I felt were maybe a .5 - .8 inch drop, but these seem lower.

Low enough to look great ... not too low that you'll be scraping everywhere ... perfect

I'd recommend to anyone. 0.8 drop up front and .2 in the back. And here they haven't fully settled yet so they'll drop a tad bit more I'm assuming.

I think the spacers really do it for me, even before the springs. I think that was the first thing I did after getting this car. A lesson learned from my previous gen haha

I really like it, perfect ride height. Not too low and you also eliminated the big front wheel gap (I notice the M4's seem to have more than the M3, could just be me though). Nice work! Looks great and tasteful.

I have a MG M4 on order and this is pretty close to my plan, looks great

I'm getting the M performance front lip installed at port so just have to make sure the drop won't be too much for my driveway before ordering the springs.

It's all subjective. It'll settle a bit more so I'll post more pics then. Hope it helps.

Drop looks awesome bro! I'm looking for the same parameters as you when it comes to the drop as I live in ny, roads are worse.

So how is the ride vs OEM ?! I've been trying to research on the forums Linear V progressive and I find myself getting more confused.

Does the car bounce on bumps and high speeds ? As that is what I've been gathering from reading the forum.

Anywho, the eibach drop is conservative and it looks great. Glad you're happy!

Thanks

Nice, man! MG just really stood out to me for the M4 and that's coming from a guy that had Alpine White previously. Enjoy!

Thanks, man! I'll update the post with more thoughts once I get a chance to really test it out. I will say that I have adaptive M suspension and EDC and though there was a huge difference in suspension stiffness between Comfort and Sport Plus before, it's not that massive of a difference now. But that's expected I'd say. It's nearly impossible in my opinion to keep stock ride quality and drop the car without shelling out a ton of $$$. And even if you do, not sure it's guaranteed.

More notes to follow.

Very Nice. I have pro kits on my e46 and love the subtle but noticeable drop. I'll probably do same spacer/kit combo as you sometime in the near future.
