Anyone using this with a VF Engineering tune, either stage 1 or 2?

Any feedback on the latest V1.2 map? Is stage 2 the best for daily drivability? Seems like my DCT doesn’t like the extra torque on OTS E30 hehe

I've put 1500+ miles on the car since flashing to v1.2. During that time, have flashed multiple times to try out various setting changes, as well as play around with the new Launch Control configurations.

The driving included dozens of WOT pulls in both auto and manual shift modes and various DriveLogic settings as part of testing out the recent flex-fuel install and revisions to my E85 and 93oct multi-map, multiple launches with and without using LC, routine trips to work and around town, and most recently open highway driving for an approximately 6-hour road trip.

So far (really hoping this doesn't come back to haunt me), I've noticed no abnormal functionality of the DCT. Of course, this could be due to not exactly replicating the circumstances around malfunctions experienced by other users, so take it with a grain of salt and such.

Thank you! Are you able to share your settings on what works best?

So far, XHP V1.2 (Stage 2) has been flawless for me. I adapted the car for 80 miles driving only in D and switching it up with mild and moderate acceleration using a mix of drive logic 1-3. After this, I did some WOT pulls and the shift speed is definitely faster and more crisp. This is a definite step up from Thor GTS, which I was originally on.

If you have stock or stage 1 power, Thor GTS is good enough. But ethanol blend guys will need to run XHP, otherwise the transmission will not behave correctly with the added torque.

Highly recommended upgrade.

I’m still confused about torque reduction and torque punch settings. Don’t really understand it.

But say I’m running hybrid turbos and around 6s 60-130 what should be the ideal torque reduction and torque punch settings ?

lower torque punch mean soft gear change, high setup mean more aggresive gear change.
i deal fair good with torque reduction on 750nm on stock turbos you shoud deal also very well with 750-800.
I use on custom 93oct tune torque punch to 1(soft) and torque red to 750.

Just dyno'd my M3. I'm making 687tq on a dynojet. when converted, its about 930nm. does that mean I should set my torque reduction to 930?

Stock is definitely 4. I found that the best setting for me is TqR: 900 TqP: 3. Any lower on TqP and it feels a little spongy, any more and it feels a little too harsh (to me anyway). I did a couple of TqR adjustments and found that its best to put your TqR on or up to 100 below what you're dyno'd at. Granted your clutch is fine.

I am now running torque reduction of 750 and torque punch of 3 on full e85 flex fuel.

It feels VERY good. Setting torque punch to 4 made the car feel a bit off and not as smooth when shifting gears. 3 made gear changes feel seemless.

Just picked this up and flashed the OTS Stage 2 tune today and I am thoroughly impressed. I have been getting by with the different flavors of MHD and BM3 'GTS' tunes for a while but now that I'm in the big boy league I can definitely appreciate having a transmission dedicated tuning platform.

Just initial driving around for a bit with the Stage 2 map and I have noticed:
  • Smoother & crispier shifting (D1-3 modes)
  • More intelligent shift points (D1-3 modes)
  • Snappier sequential shifts (up or down)
  • Smoother rev matching when downshifting (S mode)
  • Improved (automatic) downshifting (while in S mode)
  • That spongy, somewhat delayed feeling when in S mode has been eliminated at all operating temperatures and in all transmission modes.

I expected all the above but even a casual weekend warrior driver like myself can discernibly feel the difference.

I know the bucking issue you speak of and now that I think about it, I have not felt it a single time since I've been on xHP.

wow that's interesting.
the jerk is when your braking slowly and the gear goes from 3rd to 2nd.
from the outside I guess it would look like you just mashed the brake pedal suddenly for a split second

Yes, I know exactly what you're referring to. I haven't felt it at all with xHP Stage 2 (yet). I have to say 'yet' because I don't want to discount it from ever happening again but I don't find the fact it hasn't done it coincidental since I deliberately flashed different behavior of the transmission.

I'm Stage 2 BM3 with Stage 3 xhp running 750 in Torque Reduction and 5 in Torque Punch.

The punch can feel a little much at times, but I think I like it more than 4. Curious to see to see what others are running for Toque Reduction and Punch…
