Q: What are the details of the M4 M Performance Suspension?
A: The M4 M Performance Suspension maintains the factory adaptive EDC function and uses your factory struts to retain adjustability depending on driving experience mode selected (comfort, sport or sport+). It’s paired with stiffer springs and a revised bumpstop tuned for better performance. It comes with an adjustable perch for height adjustability (from 5mm to 25mm drop). The kit is developed in conjunction with KW and it is based on their sleeve-over suspension kit. The difference with the BMW M Performance coilover kit is the M Performance Specific spring rates, bumpstops, and assorted hardware. As with all BMW M Performance Parts, the factory warranty is retained when installed by a trained BMW technician. The springs are manufactured by KW specifically to BMW M’s spring rates and the kit has been tested on a four post rig and fine tuned at the Nurburgring. The reason why retaining EDC function was important is because the take rate on EDC is 70-80% on the M3/M4 in the US. For your reference, the M4 on the SEMA floor is lowered 20mm |

The main benefit I see with the MP coil-overs is that they are built to BMW specifications. BMW have the complete chassis design and development test data at their disposal. Which makes them better suited at selecting the appropriate spring rate and bump stop height and rate. This sure seems like a sweet combo .

I don't know how they're going to warranty this.... The M2 M-Performance coilover looks like it has a HUGE amount of perch travel. You should be able to Stance Bro Nation that thing.

So wait the MP Coilovers being released for the M4s basically works w/ M Adaptive and allows us to drop the car a bit based on what we want right?
Since this is actually my first time thinking about doing this, what is the difference between this and a full suspension swap?

But to answer your question quickly... It depends on your wants. If the drop you want is between 5mm and 25mm, this kit will satisfy that part. Secondly, this is a far from a full suspension swap. It is just a spring swap and adding a bit of height adjustability to the perches. You also get new bump stops. For crazier suspension swaps, check out IND's M4 and the M3 with the Ohlins TTX coilover in the master thread. The availability of the M Perf coilover sleeve kit for the F8x is still a ways out. I encourage you to get to know more about the topic before the time comes. |

Wow, surprised they are offering a true coilover on the M2, and surprised they didn't on the F8X. Great news though, I'm glad BMW is making the cars track-ready from the factory!

Not quite "from the factory" , but at least with full warranty and dealer serviceable .
