2018 M3 cs values
Hey guys, I have found a 2018 M3 cs with about 10,000 miles. The kicker is it’s only priced at $60,000. It doesn’t have any accident history and appears to be in good shape with an original msrp of over $100,000. It’s from a large national retailer and I’m guessing they don’t know what they have. I was looking for an M3 in the low 40’s but this seems like too good a deal to pass up. It’s certainly more than I want to spend but can afford it as of now. If things do go south I feel like I can at least break even on it after driving it for even a year. Does anyone know what these cars actually trade for? Lots are listed for sale as cs but actually are not. Cheapest I could find was mid $60s with way more miles. Am I completely crazy? Thanks in advance.

Seems like a decent deal if the smell test passes. Did you see what the sale price to carvana would be, for this exact car as a gauge?
Low 40s will probably yield you a 2015/2016 model which would be without warranty. $20k more but you do get something that will retain its value better, like you said, and some warranty left as well. Plus the CS hood and tail lights :-) |

I Assume you mean what they would give me for it? I put it into vroom and they came back at 55k, I tried Carvana as well but they were unable to give me a value immediately, and I should expect it within a few hours (this was yesterday). It definitely passes the smell test. I am more concerned about exit strategy (if needed) and not having to plunk down thousands of dollars to get out of the payment. |

Ten years ago I stopped by a BMW dealer that had a 2004 996TT Cab for sale. I had a PPI at a local Porsche dealer and it ends up the car was 1 of 25 special factory built cars with the X50 option and unique paint/interior scheme. I got the car for $15k under retail value. The BMW dealer had no idea what they had on the lot. I ended up selling it for a $20k profit a few years later.

If legit, yes, get it. Have it closely inspected first. They may have no idea what they have.

Trade/Wholesale pricing on 18 M3/4 CS's have been around 60 so this is pretty solid/slightly cheap. If it checks out... go for it!

I once was looking into trading my 2013 F30 335xi for a Jeep Wrangler in 2016 ( never did it was a pos). They said oh it’s a 3 series and we offer you like 18k trade in. They didn’t know or care what kind it was or packages. Over a year later traded to bmw for 25k.
Very possible the dealer has no clue what M that is |

They also had a 30 year anniversary in the spring. Think it was low $50s but had an accident. |

Thats cheap as hell.
In Canada there was 1 M3 CS listed for 88k CDN (79% of MSRP) and it only lasted a week. There is one private sale currently listed for 95k (85% of MSRP). Prices holding up very well here.

I saw a white CS on Carmax a couple weeks ago for $60k but it had a totally crooked hood. I still called them up to inquire about it, but they took the listing down immediately.

If you’re buying to drive go for it, if you’re buying for an investment I would move on. Don’t be fixated on the MSRP, that is not close to what they sold for.
Good luck regardless it’s an awesome Car!!! |

Don’t worry it’s not an investment for me. It will be driven. That being said I don’t drive a ton. Probably 6k miles per year on the M and 3k on my boxster. So hopefully I could drive it for a few years and actually lose than if I got a 2015 or 16 for less. Is my thinking off?
