wanted to double check...is there a newer version of the "E-Sys - Getting Started Coding v.2.pdf" linked to in the first thread? Want to make sure I don't F anything up when coding Euro MDM* on my F10 M5.




*and probably TPMS to show temp/pressure and a few other smaller things.

OK, thanks. So after setting up the software, to do my Euro MDM coding I'd want to:

1. connect to the car using the "...VehicleInfo=F010" (non-direct) Target & Connection Via VIN

2. Click Read (and, to be safe, save a backup?)

3. Click Read SVT

4. Select the CAFD under DSC and select "Read coding data"

5. Right-click the new CAFD file under said CAFD and select "Edit FDL"

6. Update the 7 entries listed here

7. Click "Save", hit green back arrow, right-click FA, and select "Activate FA"

8. Re-select the same CAFD file I did the updates in and select "CODE FDL"

9. Wait for that to be Done, then disconnect and I'm done?

I'm getting totally confused and lost track of versions, files and so on...

At the moment i'm using ISTA/D (basically for adaptations and diagnosis) and i would like to start poking around with coding.

Can someone send me a link to the last version of E-Sys please? I'd be really grateful, more i read more i find lost

Messaging with Shawn back and forth, I finally loaded the software to another laptop (work laptop had firewall, so it wouldn't connect). I went code crazy all morning. Coded the following:
- Euro MDM
- Rear Fog Light - thanks to tom @ eas
- Remove legal warning on nav screen
- Remove seatbelt warning
- DVDinMotion
- A/C memory
- Unlock doors at engine shut-off

Refer to the VO coding document for the anti-dazzle or Euro LED headlight. U.S. DOT didn't approve BMW's anti-dazzle technology so you must change the vehicle order (VO). Follow each step carefully.

Once your software is installed, you'll just need these 2 documents attached. If you follow these 3 simple rules, you will not do any damage to your car:

1. Never click on the "Code Default Values" button
2. Backup (Read and Save) FA, SVT, and CAFD files before you start
3. Only code the CAFD files (green circle)

Euro MDM parameter under DSC Module:
C_Laenderkennung => ECE
CTpmsMarket => EU
CPrewarnEnable => enable
CPrewarnIgnition => enable
CalLrPDevMax => 50kpa
CPInitRangeMax => 80kpa
UiaSetLevelPc => 20%
UiwSetLevelPc => 15%

Hi Shawn, am reading around and you really know your stuff. I am trying to learn how to FDL code my F82 to get the GTS steering, diff and maybe Euro MDM. Already BM3'd the DCT.

My I step is F020-17-07-507. I just downloaded ESys v3.27.1 and have a v4.27.20_PSdZData_Full file loaded.(not sure how to cross reference to versions called out on this forum like 58 etc. ?) Also have the launcher and Rearm and it fires up for me ok.

My main question is do I have the software correct and will I still be able to FDL code all GTS goodies less the DCT without any compatibility issues due to the older I-step??

Wanting -M4GTS coding; GHAS, EPS, ICM EDC/VDC -(DSC??); Euro MDM.

Any guidance and potential cheat sheets for this would be a blessing post Christmas here.

Thanks Shawn I forgot to mention I have the Esys Launcher Premium V.2.8.2.155 with a Premium Rearm if that works the same as the Pro?

It should although PRO 2.8.2 is better than PREMIUM 2.8.2.
