Cracked charge pipe issue?? Boost leak?? Car wont rev past 4k at woot

Hi guys,

After replacing my faulty injector yesterday, drove the car home and i knew right away that something wasnt right... car cant go past 4000rpm at woot... but it goes higher in the rpm when im only part throttle..

So last night i took some time to investigate because i knew its something related to the injector installation.. found this little crack from where the charge pipe bolts up to the car:

Can this little crack result in a boost leak and the fact that the car isnt running good? I dont have any CEL

Here's a little video of the car trying to accelerate from 3000 to 4000 during full throttle:

So now im wondering if i should order an aftermarket charge pipe or if tmy issue has nothing to do with the little crack i have found..

Thanks
-MK

The charge pipe is broken. You need to replace it, see how the car behaves and continue troubleshooting from there.

This has happened to a lot of folks. Replace it and you should be fine. Most people go aftermarket when the stock one cracks. Some people preempt the failure and replace them as a preventative measure.

Tom, do you think that even if my crack isnt that big like we have seen before on other charge pipe it can cause the issue im having?

Won't cause misfires like describing in the other thread, but you can't move forward until these are replaced.

ESS (silicone) and ER (aluminum) offer quality replacements.

Which of those two would you recommend and why?

Can I buy them through your website or direct PM is better?

I'd recommend the ESS Silicone. Strong, cool to the touch and much easier installation. Seeing/installing everything on the market, you really appreciate the quality in manufacturing:

The BP Engineering Titanium Charge Pipes are awesome also, but command a much higher price due to materials and labor involved.

You can PM me directly or order through the website.

Don't you need to code the injectors?
