Android vs. iOS?

New car arriving in a few weeks (hopefully), and coincidentally I'm due for a phone upgrade now also.

Had a couple iPhones in the past, and I liked them well enough. However, the last couple phones have been Android phones, which I've been pretty happy with.

Question is, with BMW seeming more "iPhone friendly", is it worth switching back to an iPhone? Would I get more functionality as far as apps, streaming, etc.? The ultimate would be the upcoming Apple CarPlay, but it seems unlikely our cars (F80/82/83) will get that.

Thoughts/opinions welcome and appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. I like the ability to flash custom ROMS on my Android phone, but I will happily switch back to Apple for additional functionality.

Android user here also.

Used iPhones are cheap nowadays, you can always purchase a used dedicated unit for the M.

Apple still seems to be favored in BMW land. Better BMW mobile app and more in car connectivity. Not enough for me to switch to an iPhone though.

I've had several generations of iPhones and Androids over the years.

Currently I'm using an iPhone 6 and an LG G3. Both fantastic phones hardware wise. iPhone is connected to my M4 and the LG is connected to my X5. Both function flawlessly making calls and streaming media.

As stated above BMW is more iPhone friendly.

I prefer iOS over Android as far as OS...just a preference but both function well. If I was forced to choose only one, then I'd take the iPhone.
