i don't think it should be too much of an issue, but i do think you'll definitely need some camber to clear no problem
Update to this post.

Tried test fitting couple weeks back and I do need spacer for inner clearance between the damper and the wheel/tire.

Without spacer it is very tight literally no gap in between,

I think with about 10mm spacer I would have no problem.

For Rear 11 width +44 can use 10mm spacer too for better look, but spacer is not needed clears fine with 305 width R888R tire mounted.

I will be testing again with 10 or 12mm spacer (i already have 15mm for street use but don't think I'd need that much) and report back.

Does anyone have tire recommendations for the OEM 18" staggered Style 513M wheels? I've looked online and asked at my local shops, and it seems like the Michelin PSS and P4S are all that is available, along with the similar Conti and Bridgestone.

However, I'm not seeing anything like the RE-71R or other options that are more track oriented. Unfortunately, right now I don't have room/logistics for a dedicated track wheel/tire set, so have to make do w/ the 513Ms.

thanks in advance

Hankook RS4 - either 265/35/18 F + 285/35/18 R
OR 265/40/18 F + 295/40/18 R

They should fit on the OEM wheels.

275/40/18 F would be better, but no one has confirmed they fit for sure. It will be close since the 275/35/19s fit for sure, and the 18s are only like 2 mm bigger diameter, but it's not a total guarantee.

finally got around mounting new wheel setup

Wheels: Apex SM10

Front 18x10.5 +22
Rear 18x11 +44

Tires: Toyo R888R

Front 275/35/18
Rear 305/30/18

Macht Schnell 10mm Spacers both Front and Rear.

Moton Clubsports 2way Coilovers, Front 3/4 finger gap, rear almost zero gap.

Front definitely needs 10mm spacers to create some room between the damper

Rear don't need spacers but I like how it looks with spacers.
maybe instead of 10mm ones 8mm or 5mm should have little more room to avoid rubbing.

Almost zero rubbing, ever so slightly over big bumps.

I think even track driving should be okay.

Better shot from yesterday after car has been washed.

I should've went this route in the first place.

Thank you, was talking to my friend about this after auto-crossing where we where pushing hard in the turns. My goal was to stay with the RE71 tire and do something like a 275/35 18 in the front and a 305/30 19 in the rear. But he was telling me if I just did a 275/35 RE71 front and the 285/30 rear it would help more with pushing.

Might as well just run 275/35 square at that point. It will help with pushing more than anything else.

The 285/30 rears are going to be smaller diameter than the fronts and will be easier to spin and you'll be prone to oversteer from wheel spin. 275/35s are taller and will give a little more forgiveness to a heavy foot and feel more balanced overall.

Front: Apex EC-7 10" et25 with pirelli DH slicks 265
Rear: Apex EC-7 11" et44 pirelli DH slicks 285
AC schnitzer lowering springs otherwise stock non zcp

Super happy with the set up though I think I can go to 285 and 305 slicks but was advised by the tire dealer that those tires may be too wide.

im planning to move to a 18" for my track setup. EC-7 10 and 11, but want to use hossiers R7, only problem is that they dont come in 295 35 18 or 305 35 18, they only come in 30 for the front i plan to use 275 35 18. Meaning that I end up with a smaller diameter in the rear tires. To what ive been reading this makes the DSC go crazy.

Whats the threshold for safe sizes before the DSC goes crazy?

How come if you put a square setup this doesnt make the DSC crazy?

Or is only when the diameter of the rear get smaller than the front what causes the problem?

Thanks in advance,

JP

Another option, has anyone considered running BFGoodrich Rival S tires?

275/35R18 front
315/30R18 rear

Anyone running the stock 513's? If so, what type and size rubber are you running?

Just got back into an M4 after a couple of Corvettes. After reading this thread it looks like a lot of NT-01's being used. Not wanting to trailer anymore so looking for a tire that I can drive to the track. Thinking the 18/10 ET 25 and 18/11 ET 44 EC-7.
Anyone used the Yokohama Advan A052 ?

With the M4 you don’t need to trailer or compromise on tires. Put whatever tires you want on a set of track rims, then throw them in the back of the car.

I wouldn’t necessarily drive on the NT01 to the track - they are very very noisy on the highway and you’d heat cycle them for no good reason.

Didn't think I could get 4 tires, a jack and every thing else in the back with seat down. Thinking a tire that can be driven to and from the track might be simpler. Not as fast but an easier solution.

You can also fit a toolbox, folding chairs and an EZ folding canopy along with those tires.

I usually drive 4 to 5 hours to get to the track. I simply could not take the noise of the NT01 on the freeway for that long, but I do have an ear problem. YMMV.

I can fit my track wheels and tires, jack and all other stuff. I have a half cage in the car, so it's even more difficult, but doable.

Front: 18x10" ET25 - 275/35-18
Rear: 18x11" ET44 - 305/35-18 (295/35-18 tire can be used here as a substitute!)

If you are running a KW, Ohlins, or any suspension system with a conical style spring, we would recommend a 5mm spacer up front as well as some negative camber to aid in fender clearance.

Hello Apex!!

I for some reason am having some fitment issues with this set up. I am currently on JRZ RSpro2’s and when i tried test mounting the wheel, the fronts tire has some contact on the height adjustable perch in the front while the wheels are in full droop (obviously lol). The tires are NT01 275 fronts/305 rears and seems like a lot of forum members are having no issues with this set up. Not sure if this matters, but the wheels in question are APEX FL-5 18X10 ET 25 / 18X11 ET44.

Looks like i’ll need some spacers, or possible more camber? Currently my front camber is set at -1.9 degrees and thought that would be more than enough to clear.

Any help is much appreciated!

10mm spacers up front. Camber has nothing to do with the situation.

Not necessarily true..if you have stock alignment the tire will be closer to fender, while if you have an aggressive alignment (camber) the tire is going closer to the strut. Am I losing it here?!

My question is can you fit the 275/305 (18inch) on F80 with stock and modified alignments?
