I Miss My ///M Cars :(
So, after owning a few great M cars over the past several years (E46 M3, E92 M3, F80 M3), a few months ago I purchased a brand new 2018 Audi S4. Overall, it is a great daily driver...incredibly comfortable, beautiful interior, AWD, fast, handles well, and surprisingly good on gas. But, it is just a bit...boring. For the M3's I have owned, each has brought with it some great thrills, and I connected with each on a different level vs the Audi.
I won't be selling the Audi for a while as I don't want to take a complete bath on it financially, but I am dreaming of getting back into an M car soon when it makes more sense financially. |

I hear you.
Hang in and wait for next M, M3/M4. Its only 1-2 years away. In regard to Audi, S4 falls between A4 and RS4. So not that bad

I agree...at this point, you've already owned an E46/92/F80, so just wait and get the G8x M3/4 once it comes out. You'll fall right back in love.

Well everybody knows Audis are good at being fast, but soul-less, isolating, and numb cars...
My parents had an A6 once and it was nice, especially the interior, but it didn't strike any emotion. After trying a BMW they got hooked and it turned into my addiction as well. |

S4 is in the same league as a regular 3 series. Next topic.

Maybe you just need some quality time (aka all electronics off at a track day) to get to know the car better?
If it's still boring, just embrace that fact and use the car as a commuter and add a 2 seats sports car to the mix |

It's gonna be boring as hell. Just endless push through every corner. This is coming from a guy that has had and still has an Audi in his driveway.

I went from a B8s4 Stronic to an F80 Manual. The Audi was a good car but I got bored of it quickly. I am not sure if it was due to the more linear power curve or the dual clutch or combination of both. I wonder if a used manual S4 (with all seasons) would be fun and worth considering for the winter and rain. I was confident, maybe overly confident, driving in wet conditions. I do miss the quick acceleration from a stop in those conditions.

This is what you do. Spend next 2 years on the g80 forum and be the first in line with security deposit in hand.

Don’t start modifying it trying to fix the feel of the car, walk away first.
It’s far cheaper, I know! |

OP I'm in the same boat. Bought my first Audi (2018 SQ5) and like you stated it does everything well. Quiet, comfortable, fast, and superb quality interior. But still I feel like there's something left to be desired.
I'm looking to hop into a used F80 later this year. I usually don't buy used but I figure it will offset the financial loss on the SQ5. |

Being in Michigan, I'm not really sure why anyone in the south buys a sporty AWD street car. RWD is more fun in everything but snow and ice. Could someone please explain it to me?
