Carbon fiber side skirts

2015 DCT F82 ///M4 44k miles

I might be crazy to ask this question but here it goes. I want to buy a pair of side skirts and I see on Amazon and EBay type of sites the prices seem fair. My question is has anyone had a good experience w/ a purchase from a place like that this? It seems like you can buy from a EBay/Amazon place for around $300 vs a different type of site for $900 plus.

If you are asking the question, then you already know the answer. You get what you pay for and pictures on low-end products are usually never what you get as the final product. It is ultimately up to you whether you decide to pull the trigger on a gamble. Good luck.

I ordered a set on eBay a few years ago. They shipped from Cali or something and came damaged with shitty cf weave. I emailed the seller about the damage and he was very apologetic. He sent me another set that came from China in something crazy like 3 days.... perfect weave and no damage. He Told me to keep the old ones. Your eBay experience may vary lol.

Anyway they're for sale for pick up if youre in the NJ area.

Extreme Power House are sold out. Any other recommendations including EBay/Amazon?

Even if the chinese knockoff stuff can look good, posts around here indicate it often lacks proper UV resistant clear coat and fades/peels after a while.

If you're going to take your chances with the knockoffs you may as well buy from Aliexpress. Otherwise buy OEM or at from a vendor that makes their own rather than reselling Aliexpress crap.

I agree w/the others...in the aftermarket world, you get what you pay for.

I would opt to order these instead of questionable CF bits. Guaranteed to fit, customizable and relatively inexpensive. Another advantage is that they are damn near indestructible.

I know it's not "apples to apples" but for what it's worth, I have a few CF front lower sections & opt to run this in matte black w/a SlipLo.

The M performance side skirts peeled terribly on my 15 M4, and my newer 18 M4 is already starting to show signs of the same thing. They both have pitted on the top and look terrible. I had to replace on my old car, and will be doing so shortly on my new one as well. I wish they were of better quality but I've had bad luck with them.

Get the cheap knockoff vs real carbon fiber, these you can replace if they break, I got the same ones from Amazon for my f83, it's sole purpose to avoid rock chips under the doors and stuff. Even if they get scuffed or break, they are cheap enough to replace. I'll post pics of my installed on my f83 if you want. Plus no one is going that close to your car to look at eg weave unless your in a car show.

I have the Amazon ones(extreme online store). I was surprised how well they fit. Made the car look so much better and I have learned my lesson from cheap ass cf parts but these were very good especially for the price.

I bought one of the $300 sets from eBay and they had perfect weave pattern and fit really nicely. It may be down to luck of the draw if you get a nice set or a bad set. My only complaint is that the clear coat didn't hold up very well. 2 years later and it is starting to fade. I would buy them again and just get them ceramic coated.

That's unfortunate.

Just go with RKP and be done with them. Buying multiple is eventually going to cost the same as a proper set.

+1 for XPH

They'll be back in stock soon. They're worth the wait.

You DONT get what you pay for when it comes to this stuff. Anyone that says OEM side skirts are $1000 better is off their damn rocker.

XPH emailed me back today. I must be unlucky. I was told one to two months until back in stock. NickyC definitely had better luck than me.

I can live with a good replica front lip or rear diffuser but sides should be quality. Haven't seen many side extension replica/cheap ones I liked.

I'm in a similar position looking for side skirts for my M4.

My mindset is to keep it clean/oem as possible for the quality, fitment, and peace of mind. I was ready to get the M Performance side skirt from BMW but these RKP side skirts look amazing and they're CF with ceramic coating.

https://ind-distribution.com/product...side-skirt-set

I'm ready to pull the trigger on these. How's everyone's experience with IND? I've never bought from them but hear good things. I'm assuming things are usually in stock and can get shipped to NY with a week or so.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from
iND. although not the side skirts (yet). I would highly recommend them. High quality, excellent packaging (almost too much). Thick paper wrapped and tons of bubble wrap. Shipping is quick.

I feel iND overprices their items and charges way too much for shipping. Might have better results if you call them and compare prices with other vendors.
