I am looking for recommendations for aftermarket clutch that maintains full street drivability. Currently at 570whp but will likely upgrade turbos this year and want something to hold up to 900whp.

6MT!

You should be concerned about torque not whp. Dodson Sportsman Plus is your best option if DCT. SSP Spec R won't hold more than 700lb torque. You could try SSP Spec X but even it needs modifications to hold. Speaking from experience. Dodson Promax is an option but shifts extremely hard and in my opinion is purpose built for racing not daily duty.

If you're looking for clutch upgrades for the 6spd manual, I posed a thread regarding the very same topic just last week.

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1791674

I ended up talking directly to Andrew at Clutch Masters, and after some back and forth questions about my goals and driving style came up with what TacoJova suggested: the FX1000 Twin Disk which is apparently rated for 1000hp+ according to them.

It's supposed to be one of (if not the) the most streetable twin disk clutch for our platform on the market currently. I'm eagerly looking forward to getting it installed this spring.

I've been looking at this one! Did they tell you when it will be available for purchase? What part number is compatible with F80?

It's not up on their main site yet, but's it's available now.

The best way is to reach out to them directly as I don't think the part number has been released. Mine is supposed to arrive at the end of this week, so I can post it up once it arrives.

In the mean time I'll PM you with Andrews contact info at Clutch Masters so you can get the ball rolling. Just tell him that Matt sent you his way.

Any update? How does it grip and how does the clutch pedal feel? Vibration noise from single mass flywheel?

Its a complete package: both the dual clutch and light weight aluminum flywheel are included.

As far as which one, I'll have to take a look at the product number on the wheel itself. I'll have a better answer tomorrow once I'm home.

Judging by looks alone though based on the install picture above, it looks to be the FW-795-K-TDA.

Right now I'm targeting mid May as I'll be going full hog with KRAS55Bi turbos and EU5 injectors.

Sounds like a plan! Do you think the eu5 injectors are really worth it? Are you going to be on e85? I wonder if it really is better..

From what I've been told by both Halim and Kratos, the EU5 injectors flow much better than our stock EU6's and can support much higher targets on aftermarket turbos.

Flywheel confirmed:
Awesome, thanks man. I think i have a stuck injector or leaky one from running e85 and want to swap out all 6 just to be on the safe side from FCP with lifetime replacement. Now considering going with eu5. By chance would you have a part number that you would be going with? I assume we'd have to install and code them in to work properly and flow correctly. Not sure of the procedure on that and if it's the same as coding eu6. Even though it's still not clear if coding is truly required on eu6 replacement. I'll have to ask my tuner CaryTheLabelGuy if eu5 needs to be coded differently to correspond with his custom aftermarket turbo tune with port injection.

Anytime bro.

Injector wise, you'll be wanting the F10 EU5 injectors (part #13647599876). On the tuning front, Cary is my tuner as well and I posed pretty much the same question. He let me know that the EU5 injectors would definitely need to be calibrated and coded in (which is generally taken care of through ISTA) and that they would require a retune to account for scaling. Luckily my shop has the ability to calibrate the new injectors, but I also reached out to Alex @ Alpine and was informed that they can perform remote calibrations if need be.

Driving it tomorrow, will keep you posted. My tuner says it feels like any twin disk, but I'll try and be more descriptive. I don't screw with garbage clutches like Spec so I won't be able to compare it to that, but I'll try and compare it to a RPS.

Any updates?

Also how much did the entire assembly + flywheel cost you since it's not available on the site right now?

$2200 and I thought it was hot fucking garbage. Feels like ceramic/metallic not real carbon plates, and I didn't ask my installer to check before doing it. It's somewhat stiff because of the oversprung pressure plate and not very nice to drive on from low speed because the slipping is not linear at all. I'm deleting my clutch delay valve and having him re-bleed it to see if it makes it better. It is not the heaviest clutch I've driven, but it's a medium.

I'm probably going to just send my OEM clutch to RPS and have them build me a custom triple disk (that will be real carbon on carbon on carbon), because this thing sucks. If they do, you guys will have another option that isn't poop.

If you need it right now I guess get the clutch masters. I'd verify with them that it's actually carbon on carbon and what their pressure plate is set to...

Would you say worse than spec? I will say mine got better with some miles. But then again I'm used to Semi truck clutches and shit of that nature so could have been just me getting used to it
