That's a nice Porsche. What were the terms of the financing, cost of the car, etc.?
It's basically MSRP everywhere if you can get one. They dried up really fast after I ordered mine (I must be a trend setter?)

Porsche was at 2.99, my credit union at 2.49, and they got me financing at a credit union I've never heard of for 2.14.

I did get the dealer to throw in winter mats. I have mad negotiating skills you know.

It should still be roughly the same I have been told recently.

Financing wise, Porsche Financial is still at a historic low (for Porsche I mean it's very low). 2.99%. if you qualify, it can drop down to a 2.40% although apparently that may end soon.

Depending on which car you do, leasing is actually alright as well. I know every car has a certain limit for how much the car can be subsidized before you have to pay full price for, well options. I don't know about the Carrera S but for the GT4, that MSRP price point currently sits at 128k. Anything above that, it won't be worth leasing if you plan on buying out. It also jumps the monthly payment by a lot.

Doug should be aware of this, unless the dealership didn't tell him. Which, they should if he prods enough. I may be just lucky as I am fairly close to my dealership.

On the plus side, the front end has grown on me - in darker colors only, and it sounds like the weight gain is not as bad as originally posted.

Still... I really really wanted AWD with a stick - in something lighter if possible. Lighter in terms of weight.

So I did it. Ordered early Feb, picked up Saturday. Can't wait to pay for maintenance
Congrats

I hope, HOPE you did the paid maintenance part. It really helps for the first 3 years, especially the big one on the 3rd year.

And a few pages back, it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be but it can be a bit of a shock if you aren't used to it.
I'm going to take a serious look at Porsche since I will be less a sports/sporty car for the next 3-4 months. I'll have somewhere between $17-20k to work with as a down payment. Maybe I can make it work. So with that said, I need to be schooled by you guys, and quick. What are the must-haves in terms of options? Is it realistic for me to think I can get a lease payment in the $1100-1200 range (..my credit is excellent as well)? How much is the maintenance option you guys are referencing?

Wow, congrats guys! Haters can't say you haven't put your money where your mouth is and getting one, good on you. Stunning specs on both

Critically different methodologies, though. AMG understanding their flagships can appeal without heinous designs, they just need to also market/speak directly to that audience. A multi-faceted marketing approach: AMG GT Black Series setting 'ring records and giving prospective Porsche GT buyers hesitation, check. AMG GT Black Series in the club, check.

While BMW went all in on the club. Apparently believes only the combination of polarizing design and focused marketing will achieve the desired results.

You probably won't be able to guess which approach I think is the better bet.

And in edition #384 of BMW solving a problem that never was with the G8X, the M3 has never lacked desirability among younger generations, including urban audiences. In the words of Big L circa 1999 --

Run with me and I'mma make you a star
When me and my crew hit the clubs, we go straight to the bar
Leave 'em empty, I cruise through Harlem in a M3
Never pay for parties, say my name and I'm in free

Or, Biggie 1997 --

Close like Starsky and Hutch, stick to clutch
Dare I squeeze three at your cherry M3
Bang every MC easily, busily

Didn't anyone on the G8X design team listen to hip hop coming up?

Got to drive my f80 at Ortega among friends over the weekend. Moments like this I can appreciate even more how nice the f80s are. I’m just glad sedan_clans were not around. :-)

So I built a base Carrera in Chalk Gray with the 20"/21" Carrera Classic Wheels. I opted for the Standard Interior/Sport Seats Plus and the GT Sport Steering Wheel. I was pretty satisfied with that build. The estimated lease payment was $1125 for 48 months with $14k down.

I may add the Carbon Fiber Roof and Aero Kit (...estimated lease payment of $1268 for 48 months with $14k down). Knowing me, I really need the roof and aero to get that GT3 feel.

The problem I'm having is I can't choose 6MT on the configurator.

Lastly, what's the chance that I can get a deal on this build?

For sure, my friend warned us of those, specially peeps with motorbikes. We really just went for a good time with our cars and driving was mindful and careful.

I'm surprised you'd go with a 911, it sounds like you want a GT3, and honestly a 718 GTS 4.0 or GT4 might be closer to that feeling/personality with its NA engine than a 992 without spending 992 prices.

Will the big tank be necessary since this will be a leisure car? What's the difference in range?

The thing for me is the back end of the GTS/GT4. I don't like it much. I feel about the back end the way you guys feel about the G8X grilles.

I built out a Carrera S. Estimated payment with $14k down is $1403 for 48 months. If I put down 20k the payment is estimated to be around $1263 for 48 months. That's doable! Time to call my insurance company.

Check that box unless you enjoy pumping gas! I'd have it in every car if I could.

Unsure on 992, but it's 23.7 gallons vs. 16.9 on the .2

Consider it checked.

In your opinion, with an as-built price of $134k, what kind of deal can I expect from Porsche.......if any? I will also check out the GT4 again.

P.S. Any opinions on Race Tex?

P.P.S. F-you guys for sending me down this rabbit hole where I'm now seriously considering the P-Car. FML!

Four actually

Didn't go with a 911 like these guys, but went into a Chalk 718 Cayman GTS (6 speed) from my F82 ZCP last month. Couldn't be happier, completely different level of fun - put on 5000km in the last month alone!

Race-Tex is more or less the same as Alcantara, but different supplier (hence the different name).

I also liked the Sport-Tex fabric on the seats in the 991 I sat in. But it's four grand so it's pricey. Don't get carried away with the options.

this angle is terrible and i refuse to believe it resonates with most millennial car enthusiasts. these are more like ads for a gucci fashion show than a car.

I need to do some research whether this and the BMW adverts were done by the same agency.

I'm in me 20s and I don't even know wtf is going on in the clip. But then again, I like older Mercs with the star on the hood and lots of chrome.
