Upgraded to Blackvue DR900S 4K Dashcam
I bought the new Blackvue DR900S from Blackboxmycar so i could use my "old" DR750S in the X5. just wanted to share some sample video clips i got. Would i do a direct upgrade from the 750S to the 900S if i didnt need a 2nd dash cam? i would say probably not. the camera is indeed overall better and the videos come out a lot sharper with higher res, but i dont think that improvement is worth shelling out an extra 500 dollars to do so.
I ended up getting a Samsung 128GB Endurance PRO MicroSD card to use with it if anyone was wondering which card to get. Here is a link to my old thread which goes over the full install with the blendmount + Celllink Battery: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1423087 All i had to do was replace the front unit with the new model, and i was able to keep all the cabling + rear camera due to it being the same as the 750s. (Make sure to change the quality to 4K on youtube) Day time footage: Night time footage: |

I'm more interested in the 5GHz WiFi than the 4k resolution if I were to make the switch.
How is the experience with viewing and downloading using the upgraded WiFi?

Timely thread, thank you! I've been thinking of getting a dash cam and was looking at the 900S just yesterday.
The BBMC YouTube channel has comparison video that clearly shows it having an advantage over everything else when it comes to capturing small details like license plates of passing cars (my primary interest in case of an accident). It is to be expected with twice the resolution over 1080p. Are you suggesting there isn't much of a difference between it and the 750S?

im only saying its not worth it if you already have the 750s and are thinking to upgrade to the 900s (especially if you are are too lazy to sell the 750s to recoup some of the money). The 750s already does a great job at being a dashcam. it will do like 95% of the job the 900s will. the other 5% is just the better details on those rare occasions that you need to see a license plate or something very small. |

Where did you mount it exactly?
Edit: the link is working now. Looks good!

do you just run a dashcam, or also have a radar detector?
i've been trying to figure how if there's enough space with the rear view mirror to do a double blendmount attachment for both dashcam & detector... it seems tight, but haven't seen any installs confirming one way or another?
