Strut tower bolts - were these loose?

Hey guys...

Quick question on the strut bolts that secure the reinforcement ring to the strut mount from the top of the tower. I have the 5 bolt configuration - I circled the 2 visible 16mm bolts, the others were hidden under the braces (not my pic). I was actually able to tighten these with my 3/8 drive socket wrench just a tad bit more. So now they’re pretty tight. The reason I did this is because I was curious how tight these actually were so that’s why I checked. Are these things supposed to be REALLY extremely tight?

A shop installed my MP HAS springs and I know they took these 16mm bolts off in the process. So now I’m questioning whether they really didn’t tighten these enough or if they actually did tighten to the proper torque spec but I just went a bit more on top of how tight they already were

Any insight? Thanks

Torque value 13az is 28Nm — you’re going to cause yourself a world of hurt if you just go into your car with a socket wrench and tighten stuff however you see fit.

This is absolutely correct, but take a look at the photo here, just below the STOP 🛑 symbol:

The shop mixed up your bolts. The external torx bolts are used on the carbon and aluminum braces, and hex bolts are used on the strut towers.
