Seeking pics of M3's set at 24.5" ride height
I just got my M3 back from installing Bilstein B16 coils with the ride height set at 24" for both front and rear. I love the look, but I'm worried that the front splitter is too low (9cm clearance from ground). My F30 set to 24" ride height has 11cm which still occasionally scrapes.
I'm considering raising the height to 24.5" but I'm hoping to see some pics to first help me make a decision. |

Where are you measuring from to get this 24" measurement? From ground to bottom edge of fenders on the wheel's vertical center line?
I have an M4 so rear is different but my front is at 25.25" and rear is at 26". If I was at 24" I'd almost be tucking rim like the car was on bags. Im on KW V3 coilovers

Sorry. I meant measured from the bottom of the rim to the center/top of the wheel well (not including the tire). Thanks for the reply!

You should always measure from center of wheel axle to inner fender lip...... unless your only talking about a certain size wheel. 19 vs 20 measure different. If it is only 19's then do top of rim lip to inner fender lip in a straight line with axle for ease of measurement

This is my MP-HAS set at 24.5in from the bottom of the wheel to top of wheel openings (the "minus tire method"). I set it that way to clear Philly potholes and crappy roadwork.

The rear wheel well should be slightly lower than the front. The car will still have a forward rake as the front wheel wells are cut higher. If you have the same front and rear wheel gap, the car rakes too far forward which will also cause you to scrape more.
Stock M3s have a ridiculously huge front gap compared to the rear. Think about what you are doing to the balance of the car when you equalize those gaps. |

(Update) rears lowered to 24" and no front scraping any more.
