Rear tires need to come off, but not the fronts. Adjusting the rears can be a real pain, space is tight so the spanner is hard to fit, you can only turn a single notch at once (6-8 pulls to go 1 thread). If you have to go a bunch of threads (more than 5) personally I think it would be easier to pull the camber bolt and shock bolt, drop the rear spindle, and then spin the collar by hand.

I needed to go down 4 threads and it took over an hour per side, and that's just time pulling the spanner. Chocking, jacking and wheels were extra.

I'm going to need to raise my front by 20 mm and the rear by 12 mm.

Would you estimate that one thread equals 1 mm of ride height change?

They are quoting book time, which doesn't line up with real time in some cases. Most likely, they haven't installed springs on a F8x before.

Dealing with this myself. Quoted $1100 with alignment (8 hrs). IND told me Fall Line Motorsports would be close to $2000. What?

I guess Atlanta shops are similar to here. Contacted two of very well known BMW "specialists" in Northern Virginia, both quoted full day or more than a day. Instead of spending on labor, I bought QuickJack, Impact tool and did it myself. Even for someone who's never done spring, it only took about half day including a trip to autozone to pickup a wrench.. I now have more tools in my garage and piece of mind that the job was done to my liking.
