Best place to get HAS or springs installed? Dealers?

Are most of you guys getting your springs or has kits installed through dealers? I know some of you cali guys and bigger towns have better shops, but where I live there are not many shops I trust, especially with experience with BMW's.

I was originally planning on installing myself, but the more I think about it, I really don't want to deal with it if possible. I don't have a lift, and frankly never have enjoyed doing suspension work. I called a very reputable local shop and he basically turned the job down and was also confused at adjustable springs. Lol I didn't think that was a good sign.

Anyways, are dealers ok with this or do they usually give you a fit about switching suspension components?

I would imagine the dealer charging $1000 + for these. Shouldn't take longer than 4 hours. I would try a little harder before giving into the dealer.

It never takes us longer than 2 and a half hours. The F8X springs are much easier to swap and install than the E9X, once the springs are on, they're pretty easy to adjust with the spanner wrench that comes with the springs

Installing suspension components shouldn't be a race.

Typically, allocating 3-4 hours total is needed to cover all the bases correctly and verify everything is torqued to spec. Otherwise, you might have to visit another shop to correct the mistakes left behind.

I think I might just try and get this done this weekend myself. Would any of you vendors know what torque rates bmw uses for the suspension bolts? The one from strut assembly, etc?

Could you possibly take pics of the install and post a DIY of your installation. I'm wanting to do this myself also. Thnaks in advance!

Yeah I will for sure! I did find another DIY on it here on the forums that I was going to use. I'll try and find the post.

Nice find! So is the installation basically the same for height adjustable springs like they for regular lowering springs? I've changed my springs on the e46 suspension but I don't have much experience on the F8x platform. Trying to gather as much information as possible before I attempt to diy.

Yeah it would be just like changing springs. I haven't done this platform either, but have done my fair share of spring & coil over installs. I am thinking about doing this tmrw, and if so I'll def let you know how hard it was.
