I'm torn between an M4 and an M2 (which I believe will come at least a year after the M4). :\

For now, I think I'm going to get a pre-owned M3 Coupe. I tried finding a higher mileage 1M, but those are still way more expensive than a pre-owned M3 with 20k - 30k miles by at least $10k!

Im waiting for the M4, planning on upgrading from the E46 but have a question for everyone,

Which would do you think will be the better all around buy?

(I do track my M3 now and will continue to track which ever car I buy next. This next car is not my daily driver just a fun weeked, track and show car. I do plan on modding my next car too.)

With all that said which one do you guys think will be the better all around buy?

It will be overpriced, but maybe not quite so much as a Cayman.

My mechanic talked me out of the Cayman. He says it's great on the track but the BMWs torque is better on the street.

Anybody think that the frozen colors will be available when it's introduced? How much more is it typically?

I am watching and waiting. Part of me wants to order one the moment that becomes a possibility. The other, more rational parts, keep saying to pass on the first model year to come out and let them work through the bugs before buying.

I've been thinking about getting on a Euro delivery wait list but wasn't sure if it's necessary because euro delivery is extra allocation. Hmmm ... does each dealership have a limited number of euro allocation? I plan to do euro delivery for the discount and then pick up at the performance center, so i guess i can order at any dealership because the dealer won't ever see the car.

not really an allocation issue, per se, but more of a "get in line to get your car." they cannot all be produced or delivered on day 1. I would guess some of the other 4 will drop off by then.

the other consideration is making sure you are not picking up in winter and having to deal with the winter tire issue. I will leave US on a Friday, arrive Saturday morning to pick up car Saturday afternoon, and drop off at Munich airport Monday morning and fly right back. I don't make a trip out of it. just over and back for the discount and then pick it up at PDC.

I am excited for the m4, but I am also just as excited for the m2. Going to have to figure which direction I personally am going to go first

It will all depend on BMW. the current set up is all ED orders come out of dealerships US allocations. If that is the case it will be hard to find dealerships that are willing to give up their US allocations for anything less the ED MSRP IMO

It will be interesting to see how the M4 compares to the 435i with M Performance parts in terms of price, performance, and handling. I will definitely look into these when the time comes.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of discount do you get? I've never done a ED, but have been intrigued by it.

Will YOU be offering ED at ED MSRP or will you also markup?

I'm not looking for the M4, I prefer a M3 saloon...

+1

While I just took delivery of my coupe, the styling and performance coupled with ED could be reason for me to upgrade. But I do love my current car.

I put a deposit down today for the number three spot at my dealer in the Midwest for a M3. It will be my fourth order and I plan to do my first ED. I ordered the following for back ground into what I like: 2007 base 328i 6MT, 2011 X3 35i and current car 2013 328i ZSP 6MT. I was tempted to consider a 2010 M3 sedan which recently showed up at the local Carmax but I did not like the wheels, DCT and wood trim.
