iStep Level for MP HAS

I pulled the data from the USB and it says I am on the following iStep:

<i-step>F020-16-03-504</i-step>

I also had CS EDC coding done.

Getting MPHAS tomorrow, am I good with this version?

Technically there is no software needed for the HAS.
Since you're on 16/03 I would update anyway to the current version which should be at least 17/03 or 17/07, tons of bugfixing.

You are correct but it is believed one of the iStep updates included changes to adaptive suspension which improve the ride quality especially on those springs

Hmmmm.... I had 16/07, 16/11, 17/03... Not really sure but most improvements are placebo related. If there would be any coding / software changing needed, BMW would do a retrofit HO word like for taillight for example.

I felt zero difference with all 3 SW Versions.

This is correct. BMW does update your istep to the current level when they install the MP HAS on customers car.

Whether you can feel the difference is another matter.

I am tuned and do not allow them to plug in my vehicle. I had the CS EDC settings coded in, partially to avoid doing a full update and having to get a new file from VF Engineering (out of laziness and the need to wait for them to send me a new file and ODBII cable).

I get the car back either tonight of tomorrow, let's see how it feels.

Seems like a tedious process. Consider opting for BM3 as it's very easy to go back to stock etc and do not require the help of 3rd party.

If not, just install the HAS and see how it feels.

BM3's tune IS based on the current iStep. so, as I understand it, you need to tell them what iStep your on to get the correct tune.

I have Hex Tune stage 1 and am very happy with is. I can flash back to stock if i need to, but would like to avoid plugging the car in at BMW if I can.

Did a quick save of my profile to check this- this is what I'm running with my MPHAS and I'm very happy. As I mentioned in other threads I got the update prior to installing the MPHAS and I noticed a huge improvement not only in suspension, but steering and throttle response.

BM3 is set to whatever istep you are already on.

Nevertheless it's a mute point if you are happy with your tuner. I suggest you get there help and go back to stock to enable the dealer to flash the newest software based on the above members post.
