Just finished my coding session with Alex. It took me more time to setup my computer than it took Alex to code my car. Excellent customer service and responsive to texts.

What cable or adapter does one need to be ready for coding by Alex? I've read through almost 22 pages and couldn't figure it out : )

If you see Alex, he'll come with everything needed. You don't need to provide a cable for him or anything, just you and your car.

You need an enet cable if you're doing a remote session. You can buy one yourself for fairly cheap or have him send you one.

California Smog Check

Can anyone comment if this type of coding will fail the new California Smog ECU check?

Our ECU tunes are for off-road/indoor use only. Will not work on road going cars.

Thanks for the quick response!

Is that also true for feature coding like GTS steering/differential/transmission?

Had some coding done today by Alex at Alpine Motorsports (GTS steering and diff) as well as camber plates on by my local shop. Despite what seems to be some unfortunate install troubles by the shop I used on the camber plates that resulted in EDC acceleration error codes, Alex was able to get me in today, trouble shoot the codes, disable the EDC and get the GTS coding done in time for a great track night. It is a completely different experience on track now and more enjoyable in every way. Can't speak highly enough of Alex for his help and patience.

I'm really curious about the GTS steering, wish I had a better sense of what it feels like.

My steering (2015 M3) is pretty numb and disconnected, but it was improved a lot going to better coilovers, stiffer springs, front monoball, and stiffer sway bar bushings. Maybe I'll just have to get the GTS steering and see.

Another thumbs up for Alex. Amazing guy that always considers his customers first. Helped me with some coding updates for MDM and TPMS and did a fantastic job.

If you're on the fence about the GTS updates.. go for it. The stock steering has way too much vagueness in it, the MDM has way too much intervention and the stock diff doesn't drive out of the corner well enough. GTS updates for this car are a must and Alex does a stellar job to get your car setup for it.

Thanks Alex once again...

Had coding done remotely recently by Alex, can't say enough good things so wanted to add to the thread. He even gave me a great price on cold start delete since I didn't want the tune, and the software update made my MY15 feel totally different, along with the GTS coding. Also took the time to help me diagnose which TPMS was setting off the light when he didn't have to at all, so great all around. Will most likely go back to him for the tune once I get bored with the car

Alex-
Can you make the following happen:
1. Default of nav screen to compass or clock?
2. Default of mirrors fold when engine off- no locking required?
3. Default of rpm in heads up in STANDARD mode, not M mode?

What's the difference between GTS DCT and CS DCT performance flash?
