GTS KW Spring Replacement Options

Has anybody swapped/replaced the OE KW springs to Swift or Eibach? Curious if it's possible to swap to a shorter/stiffer front spring to clear wide wheels/tires and avoid running spacers.

Similar to what has been done here: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=973188

You definitely can but I don't know how much stiffer you can go before you run into valving issues with the damper.

Also, if you go too short you'll start to run into other problems, like reduction of wheel travel, and may end up going slower.

If you're going that route you may as well go to an MCS/JRZ/Ohlins set up that's designed to work with higher rates.

Hmmm all good points. Basically doin't go too high on springs rates all while keeping the same amount of spring travel.

For serious track action just go Ohlins, JRZ, or MCS.

Anybody have the measurements of their OE KW springs? I got 8" front and 8" rear w/helper. I believe they're both 60mm OD. Spring rates are 400lb and 685lbs respectively.

Sorry to revive this thread as well, but just wanted to share the info I've come up with in case someone else is also trying to work with the OE GTS KW 3-ways. I measured 8.5" length front and rear main springs but it was a fairly crude measurement with the springs still installed on the car. I believe 60mm is the ID and JustAnothaM4 is correct regarding the rates which I plan to increase about 200lbs each.

Rear main spring 8.5" plus the helper spring which I plan to retain but will likely swap out the KW height adjuster for the Ground Control weight jacks, I'm waiting on a response from GC on the height difference of the WJ and whether I'll need to shorten the spring to compensate.

Yes, you will need a shorter rear spring to compensate for the GC weight jacks.

Let me know what you end up doing. I abandoned this suspension project and swapped to Ohlins TTX Pro suspension setup. LOL

Haha that's one way to go and make it much less complicated 😄 any idea how much difference there is between the weight jack and stock adjuster? I'm also wondering if I could just remove the helper spring to compensate for the longer weight jack.

I've ordered the weight jacks and new front camber plates from GC, they're 2 months out. Just need to decide on spring length and get those ordered from Swift
