Revised Water Injection Block
Curious if any members here had to "replace the replacement" water injection block from their GTS.
Many of us are coming off warranty and aside from the aluminum billet knuckes that sometimes cracks, this water injection block is the next most expensive thing that originally caused issues. Im referencing this: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...52658-9999.pdf If you had the dealer replace this revsied water injection block below, please let me know. This may sway my thoughts of obtaining an extended warranty EDIT: What I meant to ask is, has anyone had to replace the water injection block TWICE under warranty?

Mine was replaced as well under warranty. Water injection and the knuckles are the two reasons for extending my warranty, and I have zero regrets on doing so.

I have not heard of anyone having to replace the -02 revised part.
Mine was not working and valve block replaced with about 6 weeks left on original 4 year warranty But was wondering as well and was the main reason I got BMW Platinum 3 year warranty extension. My knuckles are not cracked, I took pictures with my phone to check. |

Beware:
I got the extended warranty and the Valve block is NOT covered under even the best (Platinum 3year BMW - which I got). My dealer is trying to push it through as a "good will" 95% paid (but not the taxes on parts) repair. They tried to push it through as part of the extended warranty and it was refused. FYI, my 4 year warranty expired last December and I got the BMW extended warranty last November. |

It is the best warranty available but not a 100% bumper to bumper warranty. The dealer is getting the part on Monday. Part and installation will be 95% covered under the good will policy I mentioned above, from my specific dealer. It has nothing to do with the warranty itself. The reason they are doing it is that I was told (wrongly) that the extended warranty was covering everything. It does not. I will have to cover the tax as well, which will be 10% of a $4,000 part but better than nothing. Supposedly it is going to be up to the kind of relationship you have with your dealer. Any one, please correct me if I am wrong. I know some people here work at dealerships... |

If I were you, I'd try to identify the language of your extended warranty that would support the dealership not covering the part. If I couldn't find the language, I would take the agreement to the dealership and have them identify the language. If they couldn't do it, they're on the hook to cover the part.

Got my car back. Cost me around $700.00. $400.00 of that was for taxes on the parts used. Parts and labor were 95% covered. Again, the extended warranty did not cover it. My dealership pushed it through as a « good will » repair.

This was for the replacement of the "revised" water injection block? If so I wonder if that means the new part number doesn't really address the issue

My point was that the OEM extended warranty does not cover the water injection block. |
