Great car. I am anxious to test one out. That 10 speed should be interesting.

Hmm the SS 1LE is so impressive I would have to think long and hard about whether I want to spend an addition $20k for the ZL1.

I agree. I tracked a 2016 1SS for a couple events and it was fast, felt surprisingly good, and sounded awesome. the 1LE is an animal out of the box. im in a boxster 718S and although the 718 feels more nimble, the camaro was really confidence inspiring and I think I was quicker in it at Laguna by a couple seconds. I'm not the best person to set a benchmark, but the SS seemed faster. the ZL1 will, be scary fast. I hope it doesn't have the cooling issues of the Z06, seems like they addressed it.

What a world we live in, American cars with better handling and chassis than Euro and Camaro matching or beating Corvette.

I just wish GM would lose its "cheapness" and quality issues. That still plagues the brand.

The secret is out now for proper chassis and suspension dynamics. Too bad BMW didn't get the memo.

This will be my last M car.

One thing to note, the 1LE runs tires at least as aggressive as the Cup2 tires on other cars. Expect it to eat tires like a 5yr old fat kid eats candy. Oh and its as heavy as the GT350, so the idea that Camaro is lighter is no longer true.

ZL1 is even heavier, but it has a ton more power. If it can apply that power high 11's stock should be easy, mid 11's with proper tires. The 1LE won't come close on any roadcourse that includes anything that resembles a straight.

On paper the MPSC2 is more aggressive tire than the new Eagle F1. MPSC2 has a softer compound. I have seen low option manual transmission 2016 SS weigh under 3,600lbs. On the other hand there are multiple owners who have weighed their GT350 and they were pushing 3,750+ lbs.

So tempting to buy one but if it just spins tires and out of control feeling I probably will hate it.

The 1LE weight I saw was 3,770, and it uses a new model of tire than the current listed Goodyear F1 Supercar. The 1LE didn't tie the GT350R in raw cornering grip in the Motortrend PCOTY by having supersport level tires. It almost matched it in braking which it couldn't do without the tires since the GT350R is tire limited in braking.

1LE is most certainly a great deal, even if you don't take it to the roadcourse.

I was referring to real world weights, from actually owners(which we won't see until owners get their cars). The last GT350 I saw on the forums weighed in at 3,789lbs. Like I said I have seen new SS weigh in below 3,600lbs with manual and low options. The 2016 SS MT tested weighed in at 3,672lbs, fully loaded with manual. Where did you see a new 1LE on the scales? I'd don't expect the 1LE to be drastically more or less than a SS. On average the Camaro 1LE will be 100+lbs less than a GT350.

1LE is a hell of a deal, but I prefer the GT350. It has that "it" factor.

I wouldn't think about buying a ZL1, until the specs come out on this car.

I wish the 1LE came with the A10. Would sell my car for one now.

For a sub $40k car after GMs ridiculous discounts, I'd stop paying for track insurance and at the same time be much, much faster at most tracks.
