Respectfully, I don't think you know the aftermarket business to appreciate what might be a knockoff and what is good quality but non oem-branded product. But I think Abdul can validate and prove your point by his actions since he did say doing QA and selecting suppliers before buying from them.

Yes, I knew from my research that fitment would be 90-95% and that oem cost $7K but that sort of quality we're talking about here related to safety is a different story.
You think this is my first foray into the aftermarket?

There's a reason I usually pay the premium and stick with OEM having been burned by poor aftermarket parts before. There isn't an OEM substitute in this case for F80 owners.

Having installed them, yes I can make a much more qualified statement about the quality of these lights than you do who have only an opinion based off of YouTube videos.

If I thought these were poor quality, I wouldn't have installed them on my car and would have gone back to OEM.

I am from Taiwan Taipei and I purchase this tail lights for my M4 a while back. I originally had the LCI tail lights and upgraded to this trash and let me tell you the blinker (turn signal) is absolutely rubbish in the sunlight and even in the shade especially the inner blinker. Clearly this tail light is not a smart purchase if you prioritize safety for you and the people you're driving. The company who made these headlights don't care if you got rear ended and their so call fake OLED tail lights quality is inferior EVEN comparing to the Pre-LCI light, the face lifted OEM LCI lights are WAY better in terms of quality and light output in all situations. I pay 250 USD for this set in Taipei, at first I thought the mimic OLED GTS light look cool but now I still prefer the looks of the LCI tail light and most importantly the quality and safety especially when it comes to exterior lights. I really feel bad u guys are paying so much for this tail lights in the US especially to the middle man (money grab) Right now it's not worth anything in Taiwan and China because the Chinese only like OEM and sell you guys aftermarket with no regards to QA.

Y'all are absolutely insane. If having turn signals that are as bright as OEM is that big of a deal to you then buy the $5000 lights instead of the $400 lights and stfu

I'll be ordering the lights from Abdul and buying a beater car with the money I save over OEM tails smfh

The sun is on the left of the car and you can’t see the left blinker. How can you be ok with that

You can't see that?

Probably should have your eyes checked.

It's harder to see from glare more than anything else.

No I can’t see it. And its Certainly not going to grab the attention of someone on the highway when you switch lanes in traffic.

Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a lawsuit bc let me tell you. Your insurance isn’t covering this if theyfind out which is more possible than u think.

If these things were brighter than the sun, it wouldn't matter.

If they're not DOT approved you could be held liable.

That's the risk for ever installing anything that's not OEM or certified on your vehicle, period.

Yes but I think a blinker that doesn’t work is a bit more likely

Maybe you should stop cutting people off in traffic.

That will probably reduce your risk.

Mostly because of two things. One, the mirror indicator is also brightly blinking along with the tail light. The combination of those two things does get your attention, even in the bright sun. Is it the same as OEM? Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, no. But neither was the price of this set.

And two, even more sarcastically important, what M2/M3/M4/M5/M6/M8 driver actually even uses their turn signals. /s

Does it really matter? I mean, no one behind us is expecting to see a lane change indication anyway.

Even the Volkswagen Golf and 5 series tail lights can mimic the M4 GTS design. In the end this tail lights is not so Unique after all for the M3 and M4

Literally. There's already 3 pages of people crying over turn signal brightness. Trade in your F80s for a Volvo if visibility is all you care about or move to Seattle so you feel safe that your turn signals are visible during the day. These tail lights are form over function.

Funny you say that (about Seattle). I live in Seattle and I was looking at the videos and thinking, nah, this isn't going to be an issue here in Seattle

Wow. There is no reason to accept a glaring (get it?) design flaw even in a fairly cheap aftermarket part. Despite all the classic BMW jokes your rear indicators are effective safety equipment and if you don't care about other drivers' cars or safety you could at least appreciate their usefulness from the selfish perspective of keeping your own car intact.

Until and unless they upgrade the turn signal I wouldn't buy these - simple as that.

For those of you having a bad reaction to the discussion, I hope you and another driver don't have to learn the hard way but that's what your type usually insists upon. Have at it. Somebody has to be the statistic.

I don't drive like an asshole, so…

Unless you're in involved in a accident involving fatalities, no one is going to examine your tail lights for their lumens.

WTF??! Changing lanes or turning (unless there's only one direction you can go) without signalling constitutes asshole-driving and assuming that all BMW owners drive like that is what cultivates an arrogant and risky behaviour regardless if you make this purchase or not. Some here need to re-take driving lessons or learn their lesson the hard way.

Anyone hear from Abdul? Seems like he’s ducking the thread…or maybe he’s just busy. I would really like to hear his input on the matter…

Interesting to see that you did order a set from Abdul on the F83 thread and yet you're still in this thread expressing how dim the turn signals are under direct sunlight…Totally see where you're coming from on the safety and lumens topic but at the end of the day…to each their own.

I like it because it's different and the red on the GTS lights are deeper red than the LCI tails. Didn't really notice the turn signals are dim until it was brought up here…
