BM3 vs JB4 w/ BEF
I have a 2015 M4 with catless DPs and JB4. I also have Alex's GTS flashes. I have been looking into getting a flash tune and can not find an answer which route would be the better option. I plan on getting BM3 and was wondering if I should just flash their stage 2 tune and just use the JB4 for gauges and logging or would it be better to flash the BMS BEF and keep using JB4 map 2 or 5? What are the pros and cons of both?
PS: I know MHD is cheaper for flashing BMS BEF but I am interested in BM3. Also I'm not sure about methanol injection just yet. |

The pros of actively using the Jb4 is to control boost direct instead of using the flash for it. Meaning you can adjust boost very easily by setting the PSI level on the Jb4 app.
Other useful Jb4 features are the safety failsafes but that can be used even with the Jb4 tuning off (map 4)

so I have a alpine stage 2+ flash tune on my fbo m4 if I put a JB4 on my car I was told i could only use map 0 pass through. is this correct? what's different about there backend flash?

The BEF only has fueling and timing adjustments for the fuel, and the JB4 can still add the boost increases on top of the BEF. I did not use the BEF+JB4. I only used the BEF in Bootmod3 to try running E85 at stock boost.
