I have considered it, but it seems to open a can of worms, it:
Substantially increases the risk of spinning the crank hub.
Substantially increases the risk of the charge pipes breaking.
I'm guessing the Intercooler will be at increased risk of leaking (they are known to fail)

So it seems if you want to do it safely you need to essentially build the car:
Will need to replace crank hub ($5+K job)
Will need new charge pipes, new intercooler set $4K
Colder spark plugs
Then might as well do hi flow downpipes, exhaust.
Before you know it you have spent $10-$20k, which probably reduces your resale value.

I can't keep the wheels from spinning now, so not sure I really need anymore power, maybe if you want to consistently track it it might be worth doing.

Sorry this sounds a bit negative, but it's good to know what you are getting yourself into IMHO.

The risk of a spun crank just with a tune is very rare, except maybe when using the kickdown feature. And none of those other mods are really required for stage 1, which delivers almost the same gains as stage 2.

It is recommend to upgrade the charge pipes even at stage 1, they are known to fail with stock boost levels.

Crank hub failures increase the more power you add, personally I wouldn't want to risk it, even at stage 1 as you said it adds a fair amount of extra gains, and who could resist using the extra gains?

This is the minimum I would do for stage 1 to try to limit the risk of being suck on the side of the road, with the potential for a very expensive repair bill.

Sorry not my intention to make it hard for him, just sharing my extensive research I did into it. Like I said they are recommendations, not requirements, if peoples feel comfortable just installing it without doing anything, more power to you (see what I did there :-P)

lol no no . They are only assumptions from people who never used it.

these cars can easily run bootmod without any issues.
YES you can spin it but that's extremely rare!. Even stocks can spin it.. with even being meticulously cared for.
CP can crack sometimes too but again rare, most runs stock CPs on stage1 and stage 2 , I run stock CPS and it holds up just fine.
Not even close to overheating, they really did well in this department. and plugs are good to change when the time comes as per any car.
People who have bootmod will totally understand.

i have BM3 stage 1 on my comp, done quite a few trackdays and no problems. i consistently hear about this spun crank hub thing but yet to come across anyone whos had it.
BM3 for what is costs is pretty amazing.

Yes they can easily run bootmod but with increased risk of SCH and CP as they get older and more brittle.
As I have said, recommend to do CH fix and CP not required, you make your choice and roll the dice.

Poll here shows some SCH data.
1260 votes, with 125 reported spun crank hubs, about 1 in 10 cars, weighted towards the modded, not the odds I would like to roll the dice on, each to their own.
Data while limited seems to be pretty consistent eg:

2018 DCT Comp pack failure rates:
Stock 4.2%
Modified 450-500 whp 22.2%
Modified 500-550 whp 22.2%
Modified 550+ whp 50%

i'd probably bear in mind that data is only from the forum members so would be skewed a bit, but none the less its the risk you take modifying cars, parts break.
