I was told by my dealer I was in for July 15th, which i assumed was to begin production... not sure which week as like i said im too lazy to grab a calendar and count lol... but when I called bmw usa friday to ask something else i give the girl the production number and she says, "O I have your vin#, your car was started being built today and it will be finished being built July 1st"... She gave me the vin and i called Clint up and he was very surprised so he called them and confirmed it lol. So it seems ill get the car a month before I anticipated.

I had a week 27 bulid m4 but that changed to week 28 according to bmw customer relations. Call them to verify the date.

I went ahead and called again and decided to talk to a rep. He says mine was given a build production date on 6/8. He said it should be in paint and body now. Suggest I call back in a couple of days to get an end production date. Cool.

BOOOO. just called and confirmed from a rep that the confirmed build week has been pushed back to week 28.

When I called the 800 number, I was told that my 2016 M3 would "begin production between week 27 and week 29." Everyone else on here seems to be told a specific production week. Has anyone else gotten this kind of range of build weeks?

Just called to check on my M4 order. Still showing week 27 (so not pushed back) but hasn't entered production yet.

Also still not able to add the production # on the bmw website.

Same here, I called and they said still 27 but not in production for my M4. Wierd how the m3s are in production before us =(.

shortage of certain materials/options? certain orders are for ED whereas others are normal delivery? who knows. it's all speculation. just gotta sit tight and be patient.

So my order has jumped into Status 150 which is awesome and disappointing at the same time because I was going to change colors and now I can't.

So what colors did you end up with?

...and while BMW (800# Representative) says in production, my dealer can't confirm. Still showing 112. Hmm...

MW/SO extended for now. I was going to change to SO/BLK full.

Whole process is kind of funny, seems very disorganized. I wasn't expecting to go into production for a few weeks at least now all of a sudden the damn thing is being built.

And then I added my VIN to the website and it errored and now I can't login, can't get past some ESIGN update I'm supposed to confirm I've read.

I think the color combo you got will be sharp!

Damn you... I spent all this time debating colors and finally reached the point of saying F it i'm doing SO then I can't. Kind of like gathering the courage to ask the pretty girl at the ball to dance and turning around and she's leaving with your dorky best friend.

I'll be very happy with the MW but always wondering if SO was "the one"

Same thing with me since last friday about the website basically freezing once I tried to input my vin# with some agreement popup that doesnt let me sighn in... called bmw and they opened a tech issue ticket... the more people call the more seriously they will take it.

I called again today and got the same status. Good news!

So the question is...what dates should I push for the PCD? It seems early August is possible. I had originally thought late August.

Unfortunately until the EPA approves the new MY16s you can't schedule a PCD. See below email from my CA.

Dear Clint,

Thank you for submitting a Performance Center Delivery reservation for XXXXX. Unfortunately, this production number (354XXXX) is a new model or new model year and we cannot offer a delivery date at this time. EPA and CARB Certifications are issued by the government and must be obtained for every model every year, regardless of any change (or not) in the production of the vehicle. The vehicle will remain at the VDC/VPC until all approvals and all holds have been removed. The vehicle will not ship to The BMW Performance Center or your BMW Retail Center.

Please inform your client that we will contact you with a delivery date as soon as all EPA and CARB Certifications have been received by BMWNA and the Engineering Data and Release holds have been removed. Should the client wish to cancel you will need to submit a cancellation form which can be found on CENTERNET.
