SS M3 Competition Pack Delivered!
Hey guys! Just picked up my SS M3 comp pack. Prior to getting it, I was to'ing and fro'ing as to whether it's going to be as great as my E92.
Before I continue, some background on my cars: Owned: - 1998 E36 M3 German Spec - 2005 E46 M3 Cab - 2010 E92 M3 - 2012 E92 ZCP Frozen Edition (AC Schnitzer) - 2012 F13 M6 - 2014 E63-S - 2015 M4 - 2015 M6 Comp Pack, with Akra Current: - 2015 X6M - 2015 AMG GT-S Edition 1 -... AND NOW, 2016 M3 Comp Pack!! Back to my story then, my hesitancy was around the fact that I was disappointed in the m4 and m6... The m4 will have a hard time competing with the e92 so I guess it was always on the back foot, regardless it's a good car.. I just was not overly impressed with it, and to be honest, the exhaust tone was terrible! The M6 Comp Pack on the other hand was just sad really.. Disconnected, no thrill, bland.. Definitely fast as hell... But there was no enjoyment to the car. It just felt that you were going really fast, but you could not really tell how.. if that makes sense? On to my M3 Comp Pack - holy crap it sounds wild! All video footage does NOT do justice to the sports exhaust system. It's on another level of good.. And that crackle and downshift... Just sublime. I'm as excited about this car as I was for my E92's. Steering is fantastic, handling is precise, car is super balanced, throttle response is insane! BMW have done an amazing job here To be honest, the drive of the M3 puts my GT-S to shame.. Of course the GT-S sounds mad, but regardless, from a pure driving experience I somehow prefer the M3. Anyhow, here's some pics and a short exhaust vid. Sorry for the low quality pics, was rushing to the airport <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e3vxhXB0GhA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Last edited by NUR4420; 04-26-2016 at 03:29 PM.. congrats!
not sure about the "To be honest, the drive of the M3 puts my GT-S to shame.. Of course the GT-S sounds mad, but regardless, from a pure driving experience I somehow prefer the M3." can you be more specific? I would love to have the GT S .

So, two questions for you:
1-As I understand it, the steering is not changed from the regular F8x to the ZCP. And the extra 19ish HP is not noticeable on the butt dyno (let's be honest, no one is going to notice a ~5% difference). So, are you really being honest in being that much more excited over the comp pack vs the regular F8x, or is it just the excitement of a new car? Trust me, I understand about the exhaust note, and all reports do indicate the suspension tweaks are noticeable, but it sounds like you just never wanted to like the F8x because of E92 ownership (despite all objective measurements of the F8x being significantly better). 2-I am considering a M6 as my next car after my M4 in another 3-5 years, do you have any more thoughts on it besides that it just doesn't feel fast?

So my GT-S is crazy as a sports car... its really fast, makes a loud and ferocious sound, and of the AMG engine is one of its kind. No doubt about that - from all my cars this is one of the best.. a keeper! However.. theres the smallest turbo lag, and the throttle doesnt really respond in a way that you would expect. Now ordinarily this wouldnt matter too much as you dont really notice it, but when driving the M3 Comp Pack, the throttle and power delivery is instantaneous! It just feels like the M3 is sensitive enough to engage with the driver at every sensory level... I guess what Im saying is not that the m3 is a better car than the GT-S, more that the M3 is that GOOD of a car that it makes you forget a car like the GT-S! |

Congrats!!!
Looks stunning! Any more work on the car other than the tint? Curious about your M4 comment as wouldn't the non-zcp M3 sound the same? Or you were just waiting for zcp exhaust regardless and prefer 4 door? |

Congrats!
Interesting that you think it's that much better of a car than your previous F8x. And also surprised at the AMG GT-S comment. I think it's the exhaust with the pops and crackles in combination with the thrill of a brand new car! |

Beautiful! So far I echo all of your comments regarding steering, handling and throttle response. Stick it in Sport + and it feels like a supercar! Can't wait to get mine on the track!
