This makes me wonder if the WW25/26 crowd may get lucky and that some iDrive 5.0 units from the 2017's found their way into the late 2016s during production.

I guess we'll find out in a few more weeks
Wishful thinking?

I honestly think that this delay in factory parts will just push all production slots to the right into 2017 models. We shall see.

If you have a production number for a 2016 car, you will get a 2016 car. That is what Genius and my CA both told me. He said there are twenty 2016 M4 coupes still waiting for production and shipment to the USA. I was told the factory will not shut down, or whatever they do to prepare for 2017 models, until all 2016 models are produced.

Nope. My CA is now saying I might have my 2016 by the end of July. He hasn't really been correct about anything yet so who knows. I think I'm probably the only one here that had to put $3k down for an allocation. He was adamant that I hurry up and do so the first week of April so I could get a '16 M4. Well that worked out well...Here I still sit.

Do you have a production number for your car? When you filled out your build, then your dealer should have sent in the order, and received a production number for your car. I've had one since April 11 and mine still hasn't entered production yet. Keeps getting pushed back... If you don't have a production number yet, yes you will be getting a 2017, but there's no way your car will be delivered in the US by mid July. My 2016 won't even be here by then. Maybe by the end of July....maybe.

Yes I do. My production week was originally 20 June. Now it's 1 July...I'm expecting to have it delivered in Germany by mid July.

Yes yours will be a 2017 then, and since its Being delivered in Germany then you probably will have it by then. I originally had May 23 production so mine will be a 2016..

Planning on doing a euro delivery 3rd week of July. Do you guys think this would be feasible if I got a week 27 or 28 production?

I know it may be pretty tight but not sure how long it takes for these M3s to get built.

Takes about 7-10 days for a build, if everything goes according to schedule. I know the M3 are produced in much larger facility than the M4 so they crank them out pretty quickly. You'll still be cutting it very close though.

For M3, don't forget the transit time needed from the Regensburg factory to Welt, and the prep time, typically 12-16 days.
