Best buffer for beginner

Hey, I was looking at buffers for mild car polishing. What would be an affordable starting kit? What kind of pads for mild polishing and waxing? I saw chemical guys has a kit on amazon.
Thanks

Can't go wrong with a griots outfit. Very safe and easy.

Rupes has some entry kits in the $300-$400 range. DA plus pads and compound/polish. Have also heard positive things about Griots as mentioned above.

Key point - You want a Dual Action Polisher. Porter Cable is another established brand. Mere adjustable rotary side wheel polisher and buffer can burn through your finish, especially for a newbie.

Stick with a dual action. Something like rupes, torq, griots, adams. Depends on budget really. Chemical guys has some good starter kits with torq polishers.

I have both Griot's and Portacable. Griott's is quieter than PortaCable but bot are very good for light work.

Support a local business if you can. Amazon has tons of kits as well. My local detail shop is on par with online prices so I usually pick up my products direct from him.

Griots and PC are good for beginners and not too expensive, though if you plan on polishing other cars or using it for a business I suggest getting the Rupes.

The people replying Rupes, do you mean Gear Driven Dual Action Polisher? I'm assuming the random orbiter is for a person with experience. See below for Dual Action Polisher.

Thanks,

Harbor freight makes a porter cable DA style polisher that goes for under $60 with coupon. I Think it’s a good starter DA if on a budget. Just expect to buy a different backing plate. I paired mine with a 5” lake county backing plate, meguiars microfiber cutting pads and lake county pads and have used it successfully for years. Lots of YouTube videos out there reviewing it as well.
