Looks very promising. Hopefully the Z06 comes in a manual.

Interesting/weird armrest button stack. I wonder how that will look/work in real life usage.

But yah, like everyone else is saying it looks extremely impressive. I need rear seats for the foreseeable future so I'll probably not be in the market for one.

Saw the pics yesterday and it looks good IMO. Mid engine sports car with 0-60 at 3 secs or less for under $70k, that is something I can't ignore.

I'm sold, but I don't think I want to rush out and put a deposit on a base model that's sure to sell over MSRP. I'll wait for the GS/Z06 and make a move on one. You just know people are going to pay 20% (or greater) markups for this car that will sell at a 10%+ discount a year later.

That said, these things are going to be EVERYWHERE. They're going to be the Toyota Camry of sports cars. So if you are one of those people who like to feel like they're driving something somewhat exclusive, this is definitely not going to be the car for you.

Grand Sport is the sweet spot. Get the Z06 wide body, aero, brakes...but retain the normally aspirated motor.

got to be paying $200k+ start to be “exclusive”. And it’s the 918 and Pagani class of car that’s required to be truly “exclusive”.

Just do paint to specification or a wrap and most casual car people will be impressed by c8 due to the mid engine shape

For several decades I've owned BMW 3-series M cars (six of them) from my first e30 up through my current f80, however, I don't like the ever-growing size/direction they are taking it and am probably just falling out of whatever target market they are going for.

I watched the Corvette reveal not expecting to like what they were doing either, but was actually incredibly impressed with everything. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer with just how bad over MSRP they are going to try to get - if I can get one at/very near MSRP this is a hard car to pass up.

The M is still a more practical car, but this car adds some more real competition for those who can live without a back seat.

Don't forget the relatively low cost for driving a car with engine in the back of you. Tried once and it was an unforgettable experience.

Like I said in the other thread, BMW better pull off a miracle with the M4 because I'm getting a Vette over it otherwise.

A mid-engine performance vehicle built from the ground up for that purpose vs a modified rental car for more money... not a tough choice.

It will be repeatable like Porsche, that DCT and launch control magic(+ more weight over rear wheels).
I believe the weight was 3395 in C&D article.

Also the other reason why it's repeatable is because the DCT in the Porsche is strong enough to take abuse repeatedly and not hinder performance on subsequent launches. Will wait to see how dependable the Tremec tranny is in the C8 compared to the ZF in the Porsche.

I'm more of the type to say if this is as good as the specs say it is, I want everyone who can afford to enjoy it. Flashing multiple C8 owners at stoplights everyday .

Looks good, but i'd probably wait for a mid-cycle revision. Could be i'm overly sensitive after reading about the Quadrifoglio.

How so? You're looking at the Quad? The Giuletta is the coupe version that is rumored to come out soon and will hover around 575hp+. Now that's hard to ignore...

Might be 2-3 years before GS version comes out, if at all. With the Z51 package and big rear wing available I'm not really sure if they need a GS. I think the body looks good as it is on the C8 stingray.

Agree, for the C7, the GS would've been the one I wanted. I got a Porsche instead though to replace my M4, so I'm not suffering, LOL!

No, I guess any first version release of any car. It's actually more likely I'll roll into a G80 down the road...even after seeing the most recent renderings--which I don't believe! lol

I can't see any reason for a 718 cayman, supra, or even an M4/M2 at this point. (unless you absolutely need a back seat or stick) 60k for a midengine sports car with a v8 and dct. lmao and people are paying 80+ for an M4cs

and chevy dealers are taking deposits at msrp with no markup. at least that's what guys on corvette forums and rennlist say.

I think people have to be cautious in such a radical new redesign, dont forget this is a Chevy. I'm sure alot of mechanical and design related issues will crop up the first year of the model so waiting one or two years for Chevy to work out all of the bugs is the prudent path.

Servicing the car will be more complex and costly. Its too bad they didnt announce a preferred ownership program tailored for premium service and care for the vehicle to give owners a better dealership experience.

Brand preferences, looks, exclusivity, etc. will continue to motivate people in other directions.

But whatever your preference this can only work in your favor. Looks like a giant automotive market correction to me, in a number of ways. Price being one for sure. CS's were listing in the 120's.

Good for Chevy dealers.
