Larger brake pedal for left foot braking
Yes, I've searched. Yes, I've seen - it's claimed - that you can buy a F30 complete brake pedal assembly and get a wider pedal.
But I have yet to see anyone post pics/documentation that it works. Backstory, I have size 12.5 feet and it is totally uncomfortable/unnatural to left foot brake on the track with the tiny stock brake pedal and the weird angle you need to have to make it work. I can do it, but after a few laps it's just no fun. So who else has giant feet and has solved this? Guarantee there's a least a couple of seconds a lap to be had with a comfortable/large/easy to use brake pedal for the DCT Thoughts? |

Could you just take the rubber cover off and put an aftermarket brake pedal on? I know turner and others sell aluminum ones that might just bolt right up.

I initially bought an set of automatic pedal covers and drilled/bolted them to my stock f82 dct brake pedal but the overhang was huge, it just didn’t feel safe. I got an f30 brake pedal complete assembly for around $100 brand new and swapped over the sensor took about 30 minutes to install. I guess I might be the first one to have actually done this. Excuse my dirty carpets.

I just purchased an F30 100mm brake pedal for my M2 this past week. Should be here soon. I'll make an install video showing how to do it. The pedals on eBay are about $40.

My F30 105mm brake pedal arrived the other day and I put it into my M2C. Here's the installation video as promised:

I did this same mod to my f80 m3 last year to aid with left foot braking. Only thing I had to do which the video more than likely covers is swapping the brake sensor from the M3 housing to the 435i housing (pedal assembly I used).

I did this mod today and thanks again to Farkle for an excellent video. Here are two things I ran into not covered in Farkle's video:
Overall, here's the before and after and this is a very good use of $35. I am extremely puzzled why BMW would ship their M3 model with a skinny pedal but the base F30 with a wide pedal. |
