And the engine is officially S55 so assume it is loosely based on N55

nope, N55 based.. hence the valvetronic and S55 name

also, wonder what they changed with the turbos, they don't really look any larger than the N54 turbos

probably have the same high-end breathing issues in a good tune... sad.

Really? Could have got a 370Z a long time ago as they offered 'synchro rev match'

As others have stated hopefully it can be set to default "off".

any idea on the specs of the turbos? doesn't look like they'd be much if any bigger?

Two relatively small Mitsubishi turbos providing up to 18.9 PSI.

It's based on the N55, which is what BMW used to start with, but they say that this is essentially a new unit (hence the s55 designation).

Wow, this looks awesome! I can't wait, but this is definitely going to be out of my price ceiling. Can't see this car coming in at the mid 60s.

IMO, all of this is irrelevant unless they made some major improvements in the EPS.

How much does the E36 weigh?

Power maybe 'just' 430HP; but weight is reduced with a minimum of 80kg. With uprated torque and lighter weight, the car will perform better on straights and more important through corners.

Looking forward for a steer in the new M4.
I bet any amount of money they will release something like "competition package" later with at least 450hp.

For this car to weigh in between an e46 and e90, yet larger than the e90 is awesome. The reviews for this thing are going to be incredible for sure.
