Last year the wheels changed to grey. There is also a $5k track package that had cup 2 tires and track pads.

My guess is there won’t be anything substantial (that you can’t easily retrofit) for a long time given the focus on launching new models and getting FSD completed.

There was previous speculation of 100kwh pack for model 3 and Y but that got refuted a few days ago by Musk.

If model 3P becomes fully self driving as promised, I’m ready to keep it forever, since I can’t see needing more acceleration potential on my daily commute, but if you don’t feel that way, My $0.02 is you wait. tech keeps getting better and more companies are piling in.

I've also started to look into what changes might be coming down the pipeline. It would be awesome if they added a few colors and/or brought back silver from a few years ago.

My $0.02, just keep waiting for the tri motor model S with the huge diffuser and fender flares.

Supposedly the car we saw at the Ring was a prototype headed for production and into the grudge match with Taycan Turbo S

If you don’t like the model 3 look or it’s too slow or the interior sucks or whatever don’t force it. The more expensive stuff is coming for you to spend on.

No need to settle for the civic Tesla

Any idea when the tri motor will drop?

The fact that you think what's been posted in this forum regarding Tesla is "...Kissing of the Tesla feet..." means that we *certainly* do see things differently.

I drove high-end German cars for 20+ years before buying my Model 3 Performance. On balance, I enjoy the Tesla more than any of those German cars. It's not perfect (no car is) but it gives me more pleasure overall than any car I've ever owned. And no, purchasing a Tesla doesn't immediately remove an owner's ability to be objective.
Yep, fair enough. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters at the end of the day.

On a semi-related EV note... does anyone own / has driven a Honda Clarity PHEV? Like I said, we were very close to buying one before landing on the Tesla, so I'm just curious of others first hand impressions. One of our neighbors just got one (special order I believe) and they can't stop raving about it.
Wow a Honda Clarity post, love it. My wife DDs a Clarity and absolutely loves it. Quirky looks aside, it is a phenomenal car and by far the best plug-in hybrid that you can buy IMO.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Comments like those coming from a non-owner complaining about a lack of objectivity are ironic, to say the least...
Oh far from it... my wife owns a base Model 3. I'm WELL aware of all of its short comings (and strengths as well to be fair).

Full disclosure: I wanted her to go with the Honda Clarity but she was hell bent on the Model 3.
So you get to fix the issues while she gets to drive it and have fun. No wonder you are pissed about Tesla!!

Imagine if I had my wife and kid in the car and it got in an accident. I'd be an eligible bachelor again yay!
Is that seat belt for real. I have never seen that in my Model 3. It has been problem free the day I got it other then a slight creek and misalignment on the door. All these were easy fix. I did the doors myself and the creek Tesla took care of that.

My BMW M3 had minor problems. Some I fixed and some I did at BMW. Every car out there will have its problems.

I'm thinking about jumping ship to a Model 3 Performance too at the end of the year. Time to get reading this thread.

I saw over on the tesla forum you had some minor QC issues upon taking delivery, but nothing too bad right? Let's see some more pics.

I would seriously get one if I wasn't so ocd about build/paint quality. I don't think I would order one, but would wait until closer to the end of a quarter and check out any available surplus inventory (not rejects) so I could really check over the car before buying. It most say something that I keep thinking about the M3P even after last summer's extended test drive.

Has anyone driven. Model Y yet? Since I'm full time work from home until god knows when, I've been pondering trading in my M3cs and my beater for an X3M. Now I'm wondering if I should look at the Model Y as well.

Neither will be as fun as the M3. Just trade the beater for a nice RAV4 to use. I find that mixing SUV's and high performance cars together into one package just lead to a bunch of compromises.

Honestly you have to have a different set of expectations with Tesla. You're buying it for the function more than the form. In a way it's a little liberating because I used to obsess over the F80 trying to keep it clean and freaking out over every dent and scratch. If you hold the build quality to BMW standards (or most big manufacturers) you probably will be disappointed. That being said I read about some horror delivery stories. They seem to be isolated to Model Y's right now so I'd avoid that for now.

My car had loose trim on the bottom rocker panels that they pushed right back in. Paint had some swirls and such but nothing too egregious that I could see. The most obvious issues I took pictures and documented. The spoiler fitment is a bit off and this seems to be a common problem. The weather stripping on one of the rear door wasn't installed cleanly. This also seems pretty common. In terms of rattles, I have 500 miles on it and there is a faint rattle coming from the driver door. Problem is the car is so quiet you hear everything else. Overall I'm pretty happy.

Model Y has a lot of 1st year production problems from what I've researched. I'd wait a few months at least.

Haha, I don't think these are just really first year problems. Tesla's lack of caring about quality tells me these will be long standing production and QC issues. Note the warped weather door seal above. I have the same problem and the car has been production for 3 years. Right now I don't care bc I don't have a choice bc no one makes a decent EV with 300 of theoretical miles of range. But once there's competition, Tesla either has to start caring about QC or they will start losing some market share. Tesla figured out the new model of selling cars and pushing software updates, let's see if the legacy builders can catch up sooner than later.
