Anyone try 275/40/18 square?

I have been considering getting a new set of wheels that would be used for mixed summer and track driving. I prefer the meatier look of a thicker sidewall and feel that the common 275/35/18's do not fill out the wheel wells enough for my liking. I also do not like the effects a lower diameter rear tire has on the speedo and overall gearing.

Has anyone tried 275/40/18 square on 18x10 wheels instead of 275/35? I know it would be a tight fit upfront at full steering lock, but I'd be willing to work around that with massaging the fender liners.
Bridgestone s007a, Hankook rs4, and Nexen sur4g all come in 275/40/18 as well as nitto nt01 in case I decided to make it a dedicated track set instead of mixed street&track.

I have also considered 285/35/18 rs4's or 295/35/18 Nitto nt05's as options, but again, these are lower profile than oem and 295 is a bit wide for a 10in wheel.

If anyone has pics of what 275/40's look like up front please share!

No experience with your specific setup but I run a square setup for the track of 275/35 R19 on 19 x 10 ET 25 wheels. No rubbing whatsoever.

Yeah I just decided to go the 19in route instead like you have. The thick 40 series tire up front may end up looking a little funny with the 18's.
I just found a good deal on a set of apex sm10's 19x10 with 275/35/19. Looking forward to getting them on the car.
