Is this normal?
Second owner and new to suspensions in general. Had the car lifted this morning to change wheels and decided to look at the suspension. Dinan with Ground Control camber plates. Almost looks broken, but I have no idea what it’s supposed to look like so I took a quick video.

FYI, emailed the video to Ground Control. Really fast response:
"It appears that the main steering bearing is broken. I would recommend disassembling that corner to see if there is additional damage to the plates. If no other damage is found, then the fix is easy, just replace the bearing assembly. Replacement bearings are $35.00 each." Then I asked if I could drive on it like this: "It won't cause the suspension to fall off but I wouldn't recommend driving on it like that. You will start to have the plates rub together and damage them. This will make steering effort increase too." |

I would not recommend driving the vehicle like that. The worst thing that can really happen is the shaft for the strut breaks off. Yes I have seen that happen. Please don't drive your M like that.

The scary thing is that I was at VIR last month and there's a good chance it's been like this for a while. |
