It sounds like the F83 has some rudimentary pop-up rollover protection, but I couldn't imagine NASA/SCCA or tracks letting that pass tech.

Maybe I'm a bit of a purist, but if I see myself doing any HPDE in a car, that means a coupe without a moonroof.

It does

What they are looking for is a fixed rollbar right behind the driver seats. Like a Honda S2k

You already have a high rpm / low torque car in the f430. It doesn't make sense to buy a similar engine all over again for a heavier car. The e9x only selling point is the screaming engine, take that out of the equation and the f8x is better in every way.

Even then, the strictest definition of vert safety is where plane formed by top of front suspension and rear rollbar is 3” above driver head. Most drivers of s2k type cars are too tall to pass that test.

I personally will not get into any vert these days at the track without full cage and 5/6pt harness at a minimum. When I had that z4 I mentioned earlier, I had a car lose it’s engine and dump oil at turn in of t9 at big willow. Super pucker factor.

OP has resources to track an F car, my $0.02 would be to arrive and drive in a race car of choice, or a coupe with halfcage and harnesses (aka gt3 with eurospec options installed) and NOT a vert, but OP seems set on that so I voted m4 f83

So I decided to go for the M4 convertible. Now trying to decide between a Mineral Grey Metallic over black vs a Fashion Grey over Nutmeg.......
