I believe that is taken out of context personally. The same could be said about the new M3. Same doors, headlights, grills, tail lights, windows, dash, etc.....but different hood, front fenders, mirrors, rear quarter panels, bumpers, seats, etc. I'd like for SCOTT to chime in on this one.

Thanks, guess I will wait for "Filip" to apologize for his flippant comment insinuating I just made it up.

Cheers,

If that is the yardstick that we are using to get the 80% then the F82 M4 is 85% different from the 435i -the trunk lid is different this time.

Chassis- and engine-wise, it should be more than 70% different: suspension parts, standard brake discs, differential, drive-shaft, most of the engine. Only the fundamental chassis is the same, and most probably even that could have been tweaked for more stress resistance.

Interior is 70% different if the Full Leather is selected -only the basic layout and the headliner are the same. Not the leather, not the seats, not even the center console are the same.

Nice vid, but all of those will apply to an F8X too just as Technic alluded to.

The Production version of that color - ie more cost effective is Austin Yellow.
As a collectible, the Aurum Dust would be a better value unless it costs half the value of the car.

I don't buy that it needs a bright garish colour, I also disagree with some posters opinions that it is a bland design. To me this is a gorgeously understated beast :0)

When I order mine I'm going for mineral grey, black 19's simple, stylish and under the radar.

Exactly. Just showing where the 80% came from as it's not just a random number that came out of nowhere

Either way, I'm excited for the new M3/4. I don't see why people are getting so worked up over a new car. I find it quite silly actually. And when it comes to sound..there's no way to make an I6 sound like a V8, haha. So with that being said, enjoy and drive your E9x like you stole it! That's what I do with my M Coupe!

That video I posted was a shortened video. There's another one that's a wee bit longer with more vintage M cars. Pretty cool stuff!

And that's what I love about M cars. They're understated in stock form but have a noticeable presence on the road. Save the rice as a side dish.

We're not talking about rice here. We're talking about styling cues that are missing from the M4 coupe, but present on the E46 and E92 coupes (..as well as the E90 M3 sedan and new F80 M3 sedan).

The M4 proportions are off in the rear. The rear is too long and thus the wider fenders make it look overgrown/bloated compared to the front.

Doesn't the M4 release info say that 50% of the content is bespoke this time around?

Again, if we are using the "80%" rule of the E92 M3 then body-wise the different parts are more than 80% different, as the trunk lid is also different this time.

We know for sure that the drivetrain itself is more than 50% different. We know for sure that the suspension is more than 50% different. In the case of the CCB the difference is 100%. We know all that because BMW already said so. So this 50% "bespoke" must be obviously some other kind of yardstick.
