Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 18 M3 ZCP with DCT and is new to this forum. Still learning.

Recently just learned about TCU flash. Is there a general consensus as which coding, CS or GTS, is better for a stock ZCP M3? Looking to get a flash for DCT, Diff, MDM, and steering.

There seems to be different point of views as to whether CS or GTS DCT is better but it's hard to tell the cars are tuned or stock.

Also, is there a difference in getting a flash from Alex or Kubax86?

Thanks!

Flashes are the same. There is NO difference.
From my experience (I owned F82), GTS flash is better than CS flash that's why I recommend it. We can do of course CS flash if you prefer it.

In case of any questions feel free to contact me.

Suspension is only possible from CS.
GTS doesn't have adaptive suspension.

Is there an off the shelf program like Thor or Bootmod3 that will allow me to code CS EDC myself? I have a 18' F80 ZCP. From what I read from most people, the comfort setting is a little more forgiving with the CS EDC settings and the Sport and Sport+ are still just as firm at the standard ZCP, if not stiffer. That seems like a win win to me because I live in the North East and the roads are god awful. A softer comfort mode without giving up stiffness in Sport+ is ideal. Thanks!

Cs EDC is softer in sport+ than zcp.

It's a little off topic but I wanted 1 notch softer for my Base F80 and couldn't re-code the base dampers to get better. MP-HAS did the trick and got my comfort mode more comfy, but Sp+ still shakes my teeth when needed.

In hindsight I could have picked up a pair of used ZCP dampers and put the HAS on them (win-win).

Just get Bilstein B6s with Eibach pro kit and code in CS EDC and your world will be rocked!

I heard that's a great combo! B6 with Eibach v1, if you can find the old v1.

I've read through the whole thread. Thanks all for your knowledge. A question I haven't see asked or answered is what coding strategy would anyone recommend for a car that pretty much only gets driven on a very smooth track? Looking for the fastest shifts under load, as much feedback as coding can accomplish, etc.

So living with CS DCT I think the GTS DCT tune I had on my old F82 was better. kubax86 are these DCT tunes different/distinct calibrations?

I have read some threads and still not 100% sure. I drive a F80 CP 2018 EU spec. and my EDC are already coded out because of KW suspensions. I drive no tracks only city and freeway/highway. kubax86 Would you still recommend GTS?

Of course. Massive change compared to stock - Gearbox/Diff/Steering makes a lot difference in daily usability.

Having owned the F80 CS and taken it on track many times and also now having the F80 ZCP, I can say CS was so much better on track. MDM was amazing and ABS was worlds ahead of ZCP. And by the way, I went backwards, meaning I sold the CS and a few years later bought a ZCP (both 2018 of course). It's a large difference.

Current my fully stock ZCP is a massive downgrade (in handling on track) for me since I remember how my CS did on the same track. So, if these tunes are correct, I'd flash a ZCP car with a CS right away, even if suspension and body parts hardware is not fully changed to CS spec.

Swap on a base sway bar up front (and a set of base springs F + R, but consensus I’ve read is that isn’t as important as the front sway). That’s the main hardware change you’ll need to make to the ZCP set up to maximize the CS damping

Just had kubax86 do the following to my ZCP and now the car feels much closer to my old CS I had:

CS DSC Logic
CS EDC Logic
CS Steering Logic
CS Diff Logic

Car drives softer on Comfort EDC mode and on Sport+ EDC mode, it is not as stiff as it used to be. This is also how my CS was.

As for MDM, car now allows a fair bit of slide before DSC kicks in. I have yet to try the GTS MDM but I may do that if CS MDM proves to be too restrictive.

Thanks to kubax86 again for a quick turn around.

I have a 2017 F82 (non ZCP) and have changed the stock EDC dampers with Bilstein B6 EDC dampers.

I would now like to flash the CS suspension. I still have a working copy of Esys Pro (Courtesy of TokenMaster)

Are there any guides/ forum posts of how to change from Stock EDC to CS ?

Thanks.

I had the opposite experience. CS DCT felt more refined than GTS. Would make sense also given the CS was released after the GTS, and I'm sure bmw had time to refine the CS DCT software and improve upon the GTS

Well, sometimes it’s up to preference.
All M3/M4s even 2020 models could be flashed to CS/GTS.
