I guess, sorry I wasn't trying to be a smart ass or anything though bro. Known plenty of guys with street/drag and track cars that have cages and never heard of a roll cage being a safety concern on the street. Which is why I was asking. Like you said though, maybe it's just the 6 point cages!?..

They are actually 17" and but we went up to a 225/55 to get her some more cushion. She says her car is "rally prepped" but has no idea what that means.
She drives downtown terrible roads, had to make some smart decisions about wheels and tires in spite of the silly looks.

Wonder why roll cage an M3 instead of M4 the build is cool but I mean if the roll cage is on means u don't need the backspace and that extra 2 backdoors isn't it ? Well just my thought cool build anyways

Love Imola Red; car looks great.
Wouldn't do the cage though...and I don't understand the idea of having a 4door car with a cage either.

OP, I too would caution you about running a full cage on track or street with the stock seatbelt. That said, love the build.
Say what rear spoiler are you using?

I'm sure as everyone has pointed out so pleasantly; there are things you can surely do to improve your safety in this car. Yet, from a visual standpoint - I think it's awesome. And you built it that way because you thought it was cool, and that's what matters. What's the point of being able to afford, and do whatever the hell you want to a car like this , if you have to follow all these rules like safety and stuff.. GO WILD! Screw the rules lol Awesome Car!

I haven't considered putting a full cage in my car, but while we're on the subject, isn't there a way to make it reasonably safe for the street? Serious question. I haven't given it too much thought until now, but wouldn't a racing bucket seat along with a 5-point or 6-point harness keep the driver locked down enough to prevent his/her head from smashing into the cage? Also, how do side curtain airbags factor into the equation?

usually the front cage is built around the chosen seats and driver position, not afterward
why would you want a front cage in a car if its used on the street, also, god forbid it ever happens, but if the drivers head connects with the cage in an accident the cage manufacturer or installer would be in some seriously bad legal position ??? maybe its different in the US Quote:

Does the exact cage position really matter to the degree that one needs to have the specific racing seats already in place before cage installation? Seems a bit extreme to me. I'm thinking either someone is locked in their seat with the proper harness and unable to make contact with the cage at all or they are at risk regardless of cage position by using a standard safety belt...
