Simple, carbon does not burn . I am pretty sure that all is left is the actual reinforcing carbon fibre and that epoxy matrix burned out.

It will. Most of left rear quarter should be good as new.

Best of luck OP.

Would fire alone cause that front wheel to look like it was utterly smashed? One main finger of spokes is completely bent back.

As others have already mentioned, I am curious to see how the insurance component will be handled. I imagine there will be a priority dispute.

I want to feel sympathy but am not feeling a lot knowing you were renting it out on Turo...you have no clue how they were driving it....

I could never do that to my cars.

Seems he does this for a business; he mentioned he has purchased a fleet of vehicles so he can rent out... it probably wasn't his daily.

It's a business
the op has a fleet that he rents out.

if you detatch yourself from any possible emotion, then it can make sense.
the Turo rental pays for the car.

First, so sorry for the horrible fortune.
Second, something def doesn't seem right. And my first instinct is trying to cover something up. And for that reason, sub'd.

Every car is ACV value unless you have stated value which is very rare for ordinary cars. Is usually used for high value cars and classics. I would be surprised Turo will cover physical damage coverage. They usually cover liability only, and if I'm wrong you are good to go. In case that they don't cover physical damage you might have a problem with your insurance company because you were doing business with your car. Good luck to you and sorry for the loss of the beautiful car.

Just to correct my self Turo covers physical damage. My bad!!

Agreed. My wife doesn't even drive my car!!
I'm sure Bmw will say the car is functioning as designed lol. They do that to me constantly.

Damn shame. Think it's time for everyone to start carrying fire extinguishers in their cars. Myself included.

As others mentioned above, I am curious about how the insurance company handles rental coverage. Are you required to make them aware that the car is being rented and have the policy setup specifically for that type of use? If so, hopefully you had that in place, otherwise this could get really, really expensive in a hot (oh yes I did!) minute.
Turo will cover it. But they won't cover after market parts though.

It doesn't cover any mods. I bought that car long before I started building out a fleet of vehicles to rent. It was bringing in $2,000-$2,500 a month so I was willing to deal with SOME bs .. but I never expected this to happen.....
That sucks dude. I actually put my M4 on Turo, the night before the first rental, I couldn't ducking sleep. So I cancelled every trip after that and delisted it.

I am building a fleet of decent cars and beaters. Bring in slightly less per each car but earnings from 4 beaters >> 1 M4.

My goal is make enough on the platform to buy a model X for the family.

If mine caught on fire, I'd throw gas on it to make sure it's totaled.
