I know many people don't have time nor the proper space to DIY stuff on these cars but, I highly recommend at a minimum being able to change your own oil. With basic tools, jacks and or ramps, you will be able to do it in less then an hour. You won't be without a car for an entire day, risking someone else learning how to work on your car. You will have the ability to look around and do basic inspections, use the oil of your choice, clean the area, and generally become familiar with your engine. |

Can't believe a shop did this! Happy you worked out the issue and had it fixed though.
I would be concerned on the damage done to the car from running low oil pressure for so long. I know it's harder to be compensated for that, but hopefully no long term damage was done to the engine. |

Just be glad this wasn’t your shop
https://jalopnik.com/lazy-idiots-at-...1748394648/amp I remember reading about this a while back. Another reason why I don’t trust speedy oil shops… that and in two of my BMW’s, they threw away the plastic belly cover to drain the oil without me knowing about it until it was too late. |
