ffs no lemon law is going to come. This is a fixable issue, easily fixable. Just may take Porsche a while to fix it. I don't think many of them actually know what the hell lemon law comes into affect or believes anything like this happens is applicable. No it isn't lol. This also highlights an issue Porsche has had for a few years, QC being one of them and the way a lot of German companies gets their parts seem to come back to bite them in the ass. Their entire industry is outdated. In the past 3 years, a lot of Porsche cars had some issue here or there. Taycan, GT4/Spyder/4.0 all did at one point, now the center locks recall. Macan had the steering rack issue a few years back. I don't think I have ever seen BMW have this many recalls in the span of, what 4 (or 5) years?
They aren't going to "buy" the car back for a fixable CL issue. It is unfortunate some owners had the problem and damaged the car in the process but many haven't had that bad luck happen. For RL, 2,000 units is "massive". Some of these owners are so accustomed to low, special cars they honestly believe 2k to 4k units are massive numbers. 100,000s for F8x is big, if we all had a S55 issue, then yeah that is huge. We didn't. This is why I hate RL, instead of sharing info and what not, they go there to whine and complain about rather insignificant things. None of those owners will have 1 car, that is ridiculous.

I try to post less frequently now. If someone asks a question you get half the people telling them not to do it and the other half just do it. A lot of people with free time.

This. Funny part is the most expensive 911s have this issue, i.e. center lock equipped GT3s, Turbo S, GTS, etc. Do they all want to drop off their high end 911s at the dealer and tool around in a fucking base Macan? They all probably have some other cooler cars to drive anyway. I’m not rich but even I have better alternative transportation than a base Macan.

I’m very intrigued, but even I’m trying to wrap my head around losing x amount of money on the G87. Then pay 10k more for a 4-5 year old used car. Or put that money into MPHAS, Monoball Kit and Carbahn Tune on the G87.
That is probably my favorite looking BMW of all time. Oh our car brains are stupid. |

Do it and get the F87 CS.
You will be able to get a new G87 in years to come unlike the F87, and a CS variant of it is also coming soon so there will be another car to get once you get bored of the old M2 ...

I went to see my gal in person yesterday. Some paint issues I pointed out but it isn't drastic. Hopefully they can sort it out before but I am nearing the time to take her home, end of the month maybe if the paint issues I pointed out doesn't take longer to fix.

Went and looked at it and drove it this morning. Loved it, it’s a very very different experience from my G87. Which, I’m sure we all knew, but I was surprised just how different. The suspension and steering legit reminded me a lot of my past CGTS 4.0. MT felt the same as all of BMW MTs except the clutch was very heavy. My guess is someone put in a heavier spring. You could tell it was hundreds of pounds lighter than the G87. I was also surprised at the size difference. The G87 looks like the size of a F82 next to it.
The bad, I hate alcantara steering wheels and this one looked bad after four years. Not a deal breaker easy enough to get a new leather steering wheel. It has had three owners ranging form New Orleans, somewhere in Arizona and it isn’t quite clear how it ended up in MN. Also they were only giving me 59,900 for my trade, which also didn’t surprise me. Probably going to pass on this one, my preferred colors are Milano Blue, White or Hockenheim Silver. It doesn’t look bad in black, just not a huge fan of the gold wheels. Although they did look better in person. This has definitely peeked my interest on keeping a lookout for a F series CS of any variety. |
