Don't get your hopes up too much! That's just the full i3 reveal date.

The F22 will be announced between now and then, so that should be somewhat exciting.

If the US gets screwed over again, I'm going to punch myself in the face. We are M's biggest market, after all, you guys need to spend the money to get stuff like this approved for sale in the US. I think we've proven over and over with the special edition E9x M3s that we will buy anything you sell here.

It's so exciting to be able to watch the design and testing progress of this car. I really wish I had done the same with the E92 M3...

Those Brakes Though

Anyone notice the brakes? They look like Carbon Ceramic. And they're painted a different color like most manufactures do now days. I wonder how much (if they are) that option is going to be.

Agreed, I like it when manufacturers let the public see the design process.

Yeah, I still am waaaay unimpressed with the iDrive screen. I also assume that they (M3/4) will have the same full color HUD the M5 does. Which looks great!

Yes those are M Carbon Ceramic Brakes as mentioned in the post. They have always been gold (starting with the M6 and M5). The standard M3/M4 brakes will be blue in color and can be seen on other prototypes spotted (see sticky'd compilation thread).

Can anyone explain what the sensors on the front wheels are focused on accomplishing? Are they simply heat sensors, are they measuring rotational inertia, do they aid in refining the DSC's algorithm???

Those front air intakes under the headlights are going to be considerably larger than what is currently shown. The tops are covered in foam/tape but In the first few pics you can see the outline of the actual shape. It also looks like the rear bumper is going to be quite sculpted sorta like the 4 series concept.

OEM 19" wheel on the E9X M3 are 26 lb R, 23 lb F. The very nice RAC aftermarket wheel are 21/20 lb respectively and are pushing the envelope between weight and durability. In short there absolutely is no way for 10 lb to be saved per wheel without exotic materials or a wheel that won't pass TUV standards.

Put a side airbag in them, make them a custom order-only option, and be done with it already, BMW USA. Enthusiasts are going to pay to get them one way or the other, so might as well have that money go to you.
